Freddie Mac’s Single-Family Division is currently seeking a Quantitative Analytics Senior Data Engineer to implement Big Data tools and methods of data processing and ingestion as a member of the Innovation, Data Engineering and Analytics (IDEA) team. Your Impact:

You will be able to apply advanced Data Engineering skills to solve real world challenges in building data pipelines that help the company build better models and do advanced reporting.

  • Cleanse, manipulate and analyze large datasets (Structured and Unstructured data – XMLs, JSONs, PDFs) using Hadoop platform.
  • Develop programs using Python, PySpark, Spark scripts to filter/cleanse/map/aggregate data.
  • Develop data profiling, deduping logic, matching logic for analysis
  • Present ideas and recommendations on Hadoop and other technologies best use to management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems Technology or a related field and 4 years of relevant experience, including the following: Processing large volumes and variety of data (Structured and unstructured data, writing code for parallel processing, XMLS, JSONs, PDFs) and Programming in Big Data Platforms for data processing and performing analysis.
  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems Technology or a related field and 2 years of relevant experience, including the following: Processing large volumes and variety of data (Structured and unstructured data, writing code for parallel processing, XMLS, JSONs, PDFs) and Programming in Big Data Platforms for data processing and performing analysis.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of the following: Cloud platforms, SQL and Application of predictive modeling techniques from data science, statistics, machine learning or econometrics for large data sets. 
  • Knowledge may be demonstrated through course work, training, or work experience.

Keys to Success in this Role:

The candidate should be very analytical minded, have a good grasp of data architectures and keen in problem solving. We are looking for someone with good data science skills along with good exploratory data analysis experience used to build ML models. ML skills are highly desirable.

  • Prior experience working in Advanced analytics using AI/ML technologies and good familiarity with modelling techniques is preferred.
  • Ability to think critically and logically.
  • Strong predictive data modeling experience and solid skills.
  • Solid communications skills – verbal and written.
  • Detail oriented and excellent organization skills.
  • Strong quantitative, data analytics, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to transition easily to using newer Cloud technologies in Big Data and Machine Learning

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $118,000 - $178,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
