Performance Measurement & Business Analysis (PMBA) is responsible for aligning enterprise-wide metrics, analysis, reporting and performance measurement tools to drive AARP's strategic and operating performance. PMBA includes a Business Optimization team that provides consulting and advisory services to projects and initiatives where there is an enterprise-wide impact, unknown root cause and/or complex stakeholder interactions.

Are you a detail-oriented, analytical, and motivated student interested in supporting the analysis of strategic plans and enterprise measures? The Enterprise Performance Measurement team is looking for you! Our team evaluates strategic initiatives across the organization and measures their impact to drive success. We'll challenge you to dive into data, conduct insightful analysis, and contribute to the development of key performance indicators. AARP is committed to your growth and cultivating your continued learning and development. This paid internship has an anticipated start date of Spring or Summer 2024, with the possibility of extending additional semesters.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in analyzing strategic plans and enterprise measures to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
  • Support the development and maintenance of key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track progress against strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with team members to gather and analyze data from various sources to inform strategic decision-making
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate analysis findings and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Participate in meetings and discussions to provide insights and contribute to strategic planning processes

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, or Strategic Management
  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university as rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or postdoctoral students and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship, or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
  • Tableau, Excel and/or Power BI skills preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate project needs, and discern work priorities
  • Ability to work well with diverse populations, including gender, race, and sexual orientation
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories. 

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
