Working Title Environment Analyst
Brief Position Overview
The Analyst will be responsible for coordinating standard analyses of these materials using a suite of instrumentation. The Analyst will participate in the LRES teaching mission by facilitating student projects, training and supervising undergraduate student assistants, and providing hands-on experiences for undergraduate students in the environmental sciences. For applicants with a PhD, this position will include opportunities to mentor graduate students and participate in teaching at the graduate level. The Analyst will work closely with the Laboratory Director and with an advisory board of engaged faculty with expertise in plant ecology, hydrology, biogeochemistry, microbiology, agronomy and soil science, and will participate in research projects that are an integral component to the department, the College of Agriculture, the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station, and MSU.

We are seeking an aqueous analytical chemist who will manage a research and teaching laboratory focused on waters, soils, plant materials, organism tissues, and sediments. Applications from candidates with an MS or PhD are encouraged, and a combination of two part-time people may be selected to cover the duties described here.
