Medical Scientific Liaison Rare Disease (80 - 100%)
What you will do
In this vital role you will act as a Medical Scientific Liaison Rare Disease in the Swiss Affiliate to accelerate improving Amgen's value proposition through first-class medical and scientific projects, services and expertise, with scientific experts Key is to engage with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the field of endocrinologists, ophthalmologists, and neurologists, gather and integrate medical insights into Therapeutic Area (TA) strategies and adapt completion accordingly. Furthermore, you will prepare launch activities, provide scientific communication and medical information on request.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Identify, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with current and future KOLs and key external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement local engagement plans, with local Brand Team.
- Work with commercial colleagues to ensure prioritization of engagement with KOLs.
- Contribute to development and drive implementation of TA strategy and tactics.
- Gather competitive intelligence, patient journey and report KOL feedback.
- Build qualitative and quantitative insights reports to reinforce strategic decisions.
- Design and drive Medical Affairs projects in cross-functional cooperation.
- Coordinate speaker engagement at scientific events aligned with Brand Team.
- Identify and follow-up on new research opportunities in collaboration with Medical Advisor.
- Provide Medical Information or HCP on TA-related information requests.
- Develop and disseminate medical and scientific educational programs; give clinical and scientific presentations.
- Deliver targeted internal trainings.
- Drive digital transformation.
- Ensures medical/legal excellence and compliance.

What we expect of you
We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. What we seek in you as an experienced professional, are these qualifications and skills:
- Medical or scientific education with advanced degree (e.g. MD, PhD)
- Three or more years business experience required in the biotech- and/or pharmaceutical industry, preferable in the Swiss market
- Rare Disease knowledge
- Experience in Endocrinology and Ophthalmology is desirable
- Excellent communication, engagement, and project management skills
- Language skills – professional German, French and English
- Willingness to travel within Switzerland
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of new drug commercialization and business practices
- Network of customer contacts in Switzerland
- Willingness to continuously expand medical, scientific, market, and industry knowledge
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle and commercialization process with advanced understanding of other functions; including, but not limited to, Clinical Operations, Commercial, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs
- Experienced in digital literacy
