PAE is currently seeking a Security Systems Design Engineer to support US Embassy Operations Worldwide. The Security Systems Design Engineer will:
Conduct technical security assessments and recommend security upgrades. Identify security risks, analyze those risks, and specify system requirements and procedural measures to ensure the integrity of stand-alone computers and network information systems. Provide expert consulting services on new product developments and technological applications in the market. Maintain an expert level of knowledge on installed base products, and strive to sustain and improve the current technical security capabilities Prepare a variety of written documents including memoranda, trip reports, communication with posts, and engineering surveys or service reports detailing specific engineering services planned or performed. Specify, design, procure and install equipment or products for technical security and information technology systems such as:
Technical systems/closed circuit television, intrusion detection and alarms, locking devices, access control and denial systems, countermeasures equipment, and acoustic / RF attenuation technologies. Computer systems/encryption, firewalls, forensics, network intrusion monitoring, and system security audit products. Engage in work that can on occasion be physically demanding. Perform extensive international travel to provide services. Perform other duties as required.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electromechanical Engineering is required (experience may be substituted for education). Five (5) years of current experience in conducting technical security assessments, product evaluations, performing technical needs assessments and recommending security upgrades is required. Experience providing expert consulting services on new product developments and technological applications in the market is required. Must be able to develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge on installed base products, and strive to sustain and improve the current technical security capabilities. Must possess direct working knowledge of computer systems, computer security, and familiarity with operating systems, hardware platforms, and networks. Construction management experience (electrical / power, cabling, or telecommunications) is desired. Experience with Security systems / life safety systems is required. Fire alarm systems experience is desired. Experience with security BAS software such as Software House, Hirsch, Cinch and C-cure is desired. Experience designing and installing CCTV systems is desired. Experience designing Physical access control. Must possess an active secret clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret. Must be willing and able to travel worldwide up to 30%-40% of the time. Must be willing and able to live and work on remote sites.
