Milwaukee Tool is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our growing Business Analytics team in Milwaukee, WI. Your Role on Our Team 

Milwaukee Tool values candidates who have a strong focus on business acumen. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be working closely with business leaders and stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage data to drive business outcomes with a focus on repeatability and traceability. Therefore, it is essential that you have a deep understanding of the business and the industry, as well as the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations for business partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communication, exploratory data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business problems, design solutions, and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms
  • Use statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large data sets, create predictive models, and identify insights that drive business value
  • Develop and maintain analytical models and algorithms to support various business functions such as marketing, sales, supply chain, and product development
  • Implement data-driven solutions using Python and deploy them into production
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and data cleansing to ensure high-quality data inputs for the models
  • Communicate complex analyses and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Mentor junior data scientists and analysts on the team and help to build a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence

The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience with demonstrated experience developing and tuning predictive models and machine learning algorithms
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in training and deploying models into production
  • Understanding of Spark and parallel cloud computation
  • Strong statistical and mathematical skills, with experience in regression analysis, clustering, and other machine learning techniques
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with data intelligences solutions that support end user’s analysis and discussion making, including reports, dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision making

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have: 

  • Experience in manufacturing or similar industries is a plus
  • Experience in marketing and consumer insights is a plus
  • Understanding of DevOps for CI/CD is a plus
