The Senior Quality Engineer is a member of an Agile Team responsible for testing software developed in Bangkok for our Capital Markets FX RFQ Product (FXall) The Quality Engineer will work as a part of a Scrum team to design and script test scenarios which ensure Product stories meet agreed Acceptance criteria. The Quality Engineer will be expected to provide both Manual and Automation testing and will help to build out Continuous Integration and Behavior Driven Development.

This role is Digital First Hybrid, the successful candidate will be required to work from the office 1 day per week or 3/4 days per month.

Role requirements:

  • Work collaboratively with Development, Business Analysts, TPM’s and Product to ensure ‘Definition of Ready’ criteria are met and Acceptance Criteria are unambiguous for user stories.
  • Using BDD concepts, script, maintain and update automated test scenarios and test cases based on the requirement specifications and Acceptance Criteria.
  • Work with a team of 5/6 people in delivery of an Automation first “In-Sprint” capability and development of CI/CD methodology.
  • This is an Automation role however there will also be a requirement to provide Manual testing.
  • Provide functional / task management capability for a small team.
  • Perform Demo’s to Product Team.
  • Troubleshoot issues in automated test scripts.
  • Report issues and anomalies in the system in the issue tracking system.
  • Work with Product and TPM team to ensure defects are correctly prioritised.
  • Communicate risks to quality and testing schedules to QA Lead / Quality Manager.
  • Support QA Lead with test planning through provision of estimates.
  • Provision of metrics to QA Lead to support reporting and creation of QA project artefacts including Test scenarios, Test Scripts, Defect reports and Status reports.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in QA tools and methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience as a Quality Engineer in an Agile team.
  • Experience of working within the Financial Sector.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding FX trading.
  • Scripting test cases based on requirements using BDD. 
  • Working with Product and business teams to define Acceptance Criteria for User Stories.
  • Developing and building tests into automated test suites.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in Automation using one or more of; Java / Java Script / Python
  • Experience of:
  • Maven, GIT, Jenkins, Azure / AWS
  • API testing
  • SQL knowledge required to intermediate level.
  • Experience in task management of a small in-sprint Agile team
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of standard software QA processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to grasp technical and domain knowledge quickly is critical.
  • High attention to detail and strong communication skills with ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in using Jira/Confluence.

Nice to have

  • Experience of FIX protocol.
  • Experience on Linux / UNIX environment.
  • Prior experience of testing in Capital Markets domain in particular FX is desirable.
  • Knowledge of FX trade matches, settlement, SWIFT or any post trade application is a huge plus!
  • Integration testing experience with upstream/downstream systems
