Job Description:

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in transforming customer requirements into efficient and effective solutions within tight deadlines. The Application Engineer will be responsible for designing custom engineered systems for material handling equipment manufacture, creating Bills of Materials, generating fabrication and installation drawings, as well as providing technical support for various projects. The candidate should possess a strong background in electro-mechanical, mechanical, or civil structural engineering.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Work with internal and external customers to translate requirements into working products with a quick turnaround time
  • Design custom engineered systems for material handling equipment manufacture
  • Create Bills of Materials using the CSI ERP system
  • Generate fabrication and installation drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, adhering to GD&T, ANSI, and NEC Standards
  • Clarify purchase orders with customers and/or customer service quote specialists
  • Provide technical training to customer service and junior team members
  • Support new product developments and R&D projects
  • Serve on occasional cross-functional teams throughout the year
  • Attend meetings and provide reports on various metrics

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Structural Engineering

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of structural steel components and welding practices
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks 2D and 3D
  • Strong drafting skills
  • Familiarity with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Excel with VBA programming ability
  • High mechanical aptitude
  • Industrial controls knowledge
  • Ability to read wiring schematics and layout drawings
  • Excellent communication skills across all platforms (email, phone, text)

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Gorbel, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

Applications Engineer, Associate: Min $52,988 - Max $79,481

Applications Engineer: Min $60,936 - Max $91,404

Applications Engineer, Sr: Min $70,076 - Max $105,114
