RSM is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Hands-On AWS Technical Manager to be a part of our data management initiatives in the AWS cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, data engineering, and cloud technologies, with a focus on implementing scalable and secure data solutions. As an AWS Data Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and management of data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses, and ensuring the efficient utilization of AWS services for data analytics and insights generation. As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for leading technical projects, hands-on development, delivery management, team leadership, sales and ensuring the successful implementation of data solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of data architecture solutions in the AWS cloud environment, leveraging services such as Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Kinesis and others.
  • Define and enforce best practices, standards, and governance frameworks for data management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Design and develop scalable and efficient data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources into data lakes and data warehouses for analysis and reporting.
  • Implement data security and encryption mechanisms to protect sensitive data stored in AWS environments and establish disaster recovery and backup procedures to ensure data availability and integrity.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval performance, monitor system health and performance metrics, and troubleshoot issues to ensure the reliability and performance of data solutions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers and architects, providing technical guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay current on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in cloud computing, data management, and analytics, and assess their potential impact on the organization.
  • Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to identify customer needs, develop solution proposals, and present technical demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of overall technical experience in solution architecture, design, hands-on development, with a focus on cloud-based solutions and AWS technologies and with at-least five

years of experience specifically in financial services.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data modeling techniques, and ETL processes, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing data solutions.
  • Proficiency in AWS services such as Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, Amazon EMR, Kinesis and others, and familiarity with AWS security and compliance standards.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, PySpark or other programming languages used for data transformation, analysis, and automation.
  • Strong understanding of the financial services industry – capital markets, retail and business banking, asset management, insurance, etc.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Data Engineer, AWS Database, or AWS Certified Data Analytics is mandatory (at-least one).
  • Ability to travel (~25%) as needed to client sites for sales meetings and project engagements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
  • Experience with Lambda and Kappa architecture frameworks and working with both Streaming and Batch processing.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other Reporting and Data Visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Ability to work from our Manhattan, NY office at least twice a week.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CS, Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Master’s degree is CS or MBA is preferred.
  • Advanced Data and Cloud Certifications are a plus.

Compensation Range: $117,500 - $250,200
