Job Overview:

The IT Strategic Planning Senior Manager will play a critical role in aligning IT initiatives with business objectives and driving the strategic planning process across Fortrea IT. They will develop and track the long-term IT roadmap, ensuring that technology investments and initiatives support Fortrea’s overall strategic objectives. The IT Strategic Planning Senior Manager will collaborate closely with executive leadership to define IT strategies, prioritize initiatives, and deliver impactful outcomes. This role will also own the definition and communication of the IT methodology including any tools to support that process. This role will facilitate all Fortrea IT Communication and training including Town Halls, email and IT Academy.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Lead IT strategic planning for Fortrea IT aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Lead the annual IT budget planning process, collaborating with Fortrea IT leaders to gather input, identify funding priorities, and establish budget targets
  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand their needs, challenges, and objectives and translate them into IT priorities and initiatives
  • Lead the evaluation and prioritization process for projects based on their potential business value, resource availability, budget constraints, risk assessments, etc.
  • Determine the appropriate mix of IT initiatives to optimize Fortrea IT’s portfolio
  • Monitor and track performance and progress of all technology enabled projects and adjust as necessary
  • Lead quarterly portfolio reviews of IT projects and initiatives
  • Plan and develop material for IT communications such as Board of Directors meetings, CIO executive staff meetings, and Senior Leadership Finance meetings, and Town Halls
  • Facilitate and schedule IT input for all Fortrea-wide communications
  • Partner with HR and other internal teams to define a best-in-class curriculum in support of Fortrea IT’s internal learning program (IT Academy) designed to drive technology acumen
  • Define and lead the IT Academy facilitating relationships with training vendors
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build IT awareness and engagement across Fortrea
  • Foster a culture that values diverse perspectives, drives equitable opportunities, and promotes an inclusive workplace for all IT employees
  • Perform all other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, finance, information technology, or a related field (Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements)

Experience (Minimum Required): 

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT Strategic Planning, IT Communications, IT Management, or a related role
  • Proven track record of leading and executing IT strategic planning initiatives
  • Extensive experience in effectively communicating complex IT strategies, initiatives, and performance updates to executive leadership
  • Strong understanding of IT industry trends, emerging technologies, and their impact on business strategies
  • Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management, fostering relationships, and influencing decision-makers at every level of the organization
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, effectively manage resources, and drive collaboration to achieve strategic goals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts
  • Experience in facilitating workshops, meetings, and presentations to engage stakeholders and drive alignment on strategic objectives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Master’s or other advanced degrees such as Master’s in Business Administration
  • Certification in Project Management, Program Management, SAFE, Agile, Strategic Planning, IT Governance, or another related field
