The historic Arizona Biltmore is looking for an Events and Activations Manager to join the Catering and Events Team!

Located in the heart of the prestigious Biltmore neighborhood in Phoenix since 1929, this gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $100 million renovation. This iconic hotel has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space, and 8 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 pools, 2 bars, a gelato shop/café, and in-room dining).

In this role, you will work closely with the marketing and executive teams to ensure a continuity of vision that enhances the Arizona Biltmore brand.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of event operations, budgeting, and show demonstrated success in juggling multiple projects, while executing on time high quality experiences. Must be a self-starter with the ability to create events and activations with little to no assistance.

What will I be doing?

As the Events & Activations Manager, you are responsible for building superior experiences and activations that align with the Arizona Biltmore brand, drive revenue, bring guests and the community together in ways that enhance their overall visit and breathe life into public spaces year-round. This individual will work cross-functionally with all areas of the resort, planning events for food and beverage, recreation, retail, spa, banquets, and more. They will lead planning for holiday and seasonal activations; oversee history tours and determine new ways to grow this role. You would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Responsible for resort activations and programming from conception to strategic development, to execution, including building evergreen seasonal programs that elevate the Arizona Biltmore brand.
  • Identify additional ways to generate resort revenue via programming -- i.e. additional holiday brunches, increasing frequency of history tours, adding experience-led classes, etc.
  • set up and oversee reservations for events via platforms such as ResortPass, Book4Time, Tock.
  • Oversee and manage the event budget and ensure resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to monitor the effectiveness and business impact of various events.
  • Responsible for owning the planning process from start to finish. This includes but is not limited to: developing a checklist for successfully planning resort events and activations, identifying potential roadblocks and circumventing them before they become problems, collaborating regularly with operations to refine even the smallest of details for each event, and having fully formed details for events a minimum of 30 days in advance.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team for clear and consistent marketing of events, to include advertising, public relations, digital and social media, community relations, etc.
  • Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and associates, damage to our property or the property of others. Know the correct action to take in the event of an emergency and demonstrate this knowledge by acting appropriately in the event of an emergency.
