Job Summary:

Sava is looking for a HVAC Mechanic to help in the maintenance of our customer building w/the FBI @ our TERRORRIST SCREENING CENTER in Vienna, VA. The shift for this position is 6 am to 2 pm, Monday thru Fridays.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Installs, services, and repairs environmental control systems in office buildings utilizing knowledge of refrigeration, control, air conditioning, pipefitting, and structural layout.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on air distribution, special purpose cooling, chillers, and heating units. Performs preventive maintenance, installations, and repairs on other equipment as assigned.
  • Performs service calls throughout the building.
  • Assists with equipment tours. Daily rounds.
  • Ensures all work is performed according to contract and quality specifications.
  • Collaborate with a team of tradespeople to perform a wide range of handyman services throughout the facility, including but not limited to:
  • Repairing and adjusting doors, hinges, and locks.
  • Performing painting and minor drywall repairs.
  • Moving furniture and equipment.
  • Conducting locksmithing tasks.
  • Participating in facility remodeling projects.
  • Addressing leaks and plumbing issues.
  • Assist with running conduit and installing lighting fixtures.
  • Replacing lightbulbs and other basic electrical tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • Possess a journeyman license.
  • Graduation from a trade or vocational school, and at least two years of experience in one or more building trades, or an equivalent combination of training and experience totaling four years.
  • Possess a universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) license.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication, with excellent organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with safety precautions related to mechanical trades and general handyman tasks.
  • Mechanical aptitude and skilled in using various tools of the trade.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding duties in inclement weather conditions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to collaborate with different trades and handle various maintenance tasks efficiently. (Plumbing, Carpenter and Electrical).
  • Enough strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of the job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather for prolonged periods of time.
