Varian is seeking a Hardware Verification and Reliability Test Engineer. In this role you will own verification and reliability activities on new and released products. This role is perfect for a critical thinker who can see the whole picture, the quality of our entire product, not just of a single test you are running and who enjoys analyzing and developing the best methods of testing. 

You are responsible for:

  • Working together with cross functional teams to ensure that Varian’s complex devices are thoroughly tested.
  • Collaborating on requirements definition and test acceptance criteria.
  • Developing manual and automated test methods to characterize performance of new devices from prototype to production. 
  • Developing and executing test cases to verify performance against requirements.
  • Troubleshooting system defects and drive analysis and verification of issues and fixes.
  • Completing formal documentation within Varian’s development environment. 
  • Developing reliability test plans (DOE) and reports.
  • Developing test systems/ fixture for reliability test.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience.
  • Proficient with test instrumentation and tools.
  • Experience developing software/hardware test automation.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition, microcontrollers, motor drivers etc.
  • Conversant with engineering mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, system interconnection diagrams, and bills of materials.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.

Highly Desired Skillset:

  • Experience with real-time embedded control systems.
  • Working knowledge C/C++/C#, scripting language, LabView, Python etc.
  • Experience with medical device testing and defect tracking tools.
  • Experience in quality management systems and medical device development processes.

The base pay range for this position is

Min $105,500 - Max $189,800

The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
