Job Profile: Business Development Representative

Reports To: Director of Business Development

Company Overview

ISO Services is a 40+ year old industrial service and construction company providing all disciplines of industrial maintenance and construction. We are a division of Ergon Construction Group, an Ergon, Inc. company. Our services include specialty trades (insulation, fireproofing, painting/coatings, scaffolding & heat tracing) in addition to our mechanical and civil capabilities.

Position Overview:

In addition to being a self-motivated, self-starter, the Business Development Representative is responsible for sales and sales-related duties as defined in the job description and by the Director of Business Development. Those duties include but are not limited to the following: identifying potential new customers, developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers, and securing new bid opportunities with both new and existing customers. The Business Development Rep is a result driven, problem solving, strategic business partner who best represents ISO Services by understanding the needs of the customer and implementing strategies to exceed their expectations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Update and maintain CRM database (Salesforce) by identifying, adding and assembling prospect, customer & market information on upcoming opportunities for new and current customers.
  • Present and articulate ISO Services capabilities, company history and our value proposition.
  • Promote our safety-first mentality.
  • Promote and embody Ergon's core values.
  • Possess extensive industrial plant relationships in and around the Jackson, MS area.
  • Plan and coordinate business development activities at the Corporate and branch levels.
  • Assist with presentations, proposals, brochures, and other collateral materials to ensure they are current.
  • Attend job walks, site visits, safety meetings and other plant related meetings.
  • Secure master agreements from prospects allowing us to qualify and work in their facilities.
  • Consistently focus on customer relationship strategies via attending events, association meetings, etc.
  • Keep the management team fully informed on all aspects of our prospects and customer's needs.
  • Perform all necessary research to identify and prioritize both the marketplace and customers.
  • Participate in the planning and strategy to ensure our goals and KPI's are a stretch, reasonable and on track.
  • Maintain and leverage the relationships with other Ergon departments, other contractors and EPC's.

Educational Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree (Business, Sales/Marketing, Construction/Engineering) preferred OR significant successful industrial sales experience in lieu of a degree.

Applicable Experience & Competencies:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in industrial sales with existing plant relationships in the Jackson market.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Previous sales experience with industrial services, equipment sales or soft crafts are a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to work independently.
  • Basic knowledge of construction, negotiation, understanding of contract terms & conditions.
  • Basic Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SalesForce).
  • Willing to travel (30% - 50%, mostly in the territory).
  • Organizational awareness- understand organizational structure, decision making procedures, etc.

Candidate must be physically able to climb ladders and stairs and other activities related to job walks, safety related training, etc.
