Mission Readiness Solutions (MRS) provides comprehensive mission support solutions to programs within the F/A-18 and Global Strike Business Area. It is comprised of USN and USAF Programs supporting both the F/A-18 and B-2 Aircraft along with various International customers. Depot stand-up and maintenance, spares, repairs, and overall customer support from tomb to womb are encompassed within MRS.
The APG-79 Spares Program Manager reports directly to the F/A-18 Senior Program Manager, and Deputy Director of Mission Readiness Solutions. The Program Manager is responsible for the proposal, negotiation, award, build, test, and delivery of radar spares for the US Navy and several FMS customers and is responsible for the cost, schedule, and financial metrics of the overall collection of spares programs. This role requires prior direct experience in program management and will have direct reports managing other spares programs. Supervisory experience is preferred but not required. The desired candidate is a strong leader, experienced with high volume product execution, excellent communication and customer skills, experienced in reporting and presenting to Senior Level Management, and a strong business acumen. External customers include NAVAIR, NAVSUP, DLA, and Boeing. Internal RTX sites include Forest, MS, Andover, MD, and functional organizations geographically dispersed.
The candidate shall have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Program Management or experience working similar Programs within RTX. The candidate will have experience developing jointly defined program objectives, metrics, and schedules with customers. The APG-79 Spares program manager holds a critical role in coordinating with the F/A-18/GS Obsolescence Manager to ensure a common strategy is being communicated to customers, as well as interface with Development and Production arms of the F/A-18/GS program office to generate synergy where applicable.
In addition, position requirements include: proposal development and oversight, participation in negotiations, initial contract baseline requirements, contract closure, and hardware reliability assessment for Domestic and FMS customers, weekly program performance reviews, Financial SROs, EACs, Gate reviews, and customer reviews. Travel and attendance at required customer meetings as required.
