Position Summary:

Amkor Technology is currently looking for a Sr. Director of Customer Test Services Engineering for Global Test Services. This leader will own the customer specific engineering experience for all facets of global test services. This includes the early engagements with test services, new business opportunity execution, cross functional leadership of new product introduction, ramp to volume, continuous improvement of test operations efficiency and asset management working directly with our global factory sites and customers. This includes short term execution as well as long term roadmap planning, development and ramp to production. This leadership position may be either direct or via a matrix management structure. This position requires strong technical and interpersonal skills with a focus on test and product engineering. Individual will have active engagement with factory equipment engineering, test engineering, process engineering, sales organization and direct customer engagement enabling and improving the software and hardware for robust high volume manufacturing at maximum efficiency. This position requires approximately 40% domestic and 40% international travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deep technical knowledge, project management, strategic planning, tactical execution, customer satisfaction control, business sense, and negotiation skill.
  • Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
  • Detailed knowledge of semiconductor packaging test and assembly.
  • Driving customer requirements and test development/production test timelines and obtaining customer acceptance of project deliverables.
  • Responsible for driving cost reductions and increased revenues.
  • Develop stronger relationship with test equipment suppliers and customers.
  • Work closely with test equipment suppliers to identify capabilities and capacities for all key test requirement.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Align on Technology Roadmaps and drive SiP test priorities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent is required.
  • 12+ years of manufacturing experience in the semiconductor industry with experience in product engineering, test engineering, technical support and manufacturing.
  • Experience in bench test development, Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test programs and design of ATE hardware.
  • Individual needs to be self-driven with a demonstrated ability to work independently with general high-level direction.
  • Multi-national company experience, and demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles in a highly diverse, multi-language organization.
  • Excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver material to varying audiences including customers and suppliers at varying levels of technical and executive management.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results and team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence, demonstrate strategic thinking and leadership.
  • Ability to understand and streamline technical and business processes.
  • Basic Knowledge of Design of Experiments, Statistics and Semiconductor Test Process Flows.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP(R)) certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience of semiconductor test equipment configurations and application; this applies to all test equipment such as electrical testers, package handlers, wafer probers and burn in ovens.
  • Understanding of ATE equipment models including testers, handlers, probers and end of line equipment and typical process flows by end market/application.
  • Experience with cost modeling, pricing, and quoting activities.
  • Experience with development of prototype test solutions (HW/SW) for the characterization of High-Speed Digital, Mixed Signal or RF devices is required.

Location:

San Jose, CA or Tempe, AZ. This position has a hybrid schedule. Candidates must reside near the local Amkor office or be willing to relocate to be considered.
