Job Description:

At Zscaler, we're on a mission to make the internet safe for every user, anywhere. We seek a seasoned Senior Staff Software Engineer - UI with a strong front-end engineering background in ReactJS, TypeScript ecosystem, and cutting edge user experiences. This role offers the opportunity to influence the direction of user experience of our cybersecurity products and significantly impact our global customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers on the team to implement and support the development of reusable, and extensible data visualization components.
  • Implement an architecture for the data visualization library that is scalable to multiple JS frameworks.
  • Write acceptance tests, and documentation to ensure maximum adoption of the components.
  • Implement and evangelize Data Visualization best practices.

Qualifications:

  • You have worked on data heavy web applications, and have a keen eye for design. You understand UI/UX design principles and have worked closely with designers.
  • You are a JavaScript ninja, and mostly used ReactJS in your recent work.
  • You can position things with CSS and have done your fair share of browsing on the W3C website for the box-model or other algorithms.
  • When you hear HTML, you think of Semantic HTML Tags.
  • You are a champion of lean, clear, and up-to-date documentation, testing, and automation, and know these to be an integral part of your UI Engineering workflow.
  • You know that D3 is not an Amazon S3 competitor but a powerful data visualization library.
  • You have a passion for engineers as your customers, and making their lives easier by providing well architected UI Components.
  • Knowledge of responsive design and mobile-first development.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and package managers (e.g., npm).
  • Understanding of performance optimization techniques for UI components.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work on time.

Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years professional experience as a front end engineer and coaching junior engineers.

Zscaler’s salary ranges are benchmarked and are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.

Base Pay Range

$178,500—$210,000 USD
