Senior Vice President, Global Head of Business Partnering and Applications

Business Partnering

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of technology roadmaps (City Plans) and to ensure successful buy-in and cascading across the various business units.
  • Collaborate with management and top executives, the Head of I&T Business Office, the Head of IT Strategy and Technology, and finance to develop annual IT plans and budgets for respective business areas.
  • Lead quarterly business review meetings with Heads of Business Led IT, and Enterprise Portfolio Committee (EPC) Governance to drive alignment on portfolio investments among GLG functions.
  • Develop solution concepts and business cases for technology roadmap (City Plan) investments.
  • Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed.
  • Create and analyze relevant information and develop recommendations for presenting to executive management.
  • Act as the key enabling technology liaison across all functional areas, including business units, the information technology department, and select outside vendors.
  • Possess a broad knowledge of most technical and business resources and use them to effectively coordinate team members and external resources.
  • Create shared vision of people, process and technology solutions and facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs, both within and between different solution platforms.
  • Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards. Drive and promote adherence to technology platforms and standards
  • Create consensus with other functions as to the timing of solution introductions, withdrawals and decommissioning of legacy technologies.
  • Oversee the launch of solutions and help to maximize the positive impact on the organization.
  • Identify, screen and evaluate new solution opportunities to address unmet (internal and external) customer needs.
  • Partner with key staff members to create strategic business plans.
  • Possess strong analytical skills, including an understanding of business economics and financial resources.
  • Utilize the appropriate technologies and ensure that customers have the solutions they need, when they need them, and in the media best suited to their requirements.
  • Collaborate with architecture and operations teams to ensure solution compatibility with company standards.
  • Collaborate with the portfolio manager on the intake process and prioritization of candidate projects across the company.

Application Platforms

  • Responsible for managing the operational support, maintenance, and development activities for business applications utilizing internal and external resources/services.
  • Accountable as a focal point for communicating related system problems and collaborates with other teams and third parties on changes, fixes, and updates.
  • Directs and develops a team of application leads to ensure IT strategy is implemented consistently, and according to relevant quality and compliance standards
  • Ensures successful project application execution by providing overall direction and guidance to external and internal resources, ensuring project goals, budget and timelines are met.
  • Oversee the accountability for the planning, scheduling, controlling the build, testing and deploying Releases, including effective end user communication. Ensures that technology delivers new and enhanced products/services required by the business, while protecting the integrity of existing products/services.

Continuous Improvement

  • Accountable for overseeing continuous improvement initiatives to increase effectiveness and efficiency of business applications. Successfully drives team efficiency through assessing required service levels and then matching internal and external resources to meet those needs

Data, Insights & Analytics

  • Develops the Data, Insights and Analytics (DI&A) Technology strategy in Partnership with executive Business Partners and IT Strategy & Technology office, in alignment with technology roadmaps (City Plans)
  • Accountable for the delivery of DI&A strategy through technology solutions and ensures execution through various I&T areas.

Strategy

  • Develops and executes mid to long term business partner and applications strategies that are aligned with and drive the overall business strategy to support CSL 2030 Strategy.

Position Requirements: Provide hiring requirements for the specified position, as well as necessary educational, experiential, and other requirements necessary for the position.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Project/Program Management or other related Science discipline, or Management Information Systems.

Related Experience:

  • 15+ years progressive IT experience, including specific experience in applications management, operations and large team people management, global managerial experience and demonstrated leadership experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience managing large IT organization in a global environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence at all organizational levels through clear, concise and impactful verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build, mentor and grow a high performing and cohesive team
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience desirable
  • Adaptable to handle a fast-paced working environment
