Overview

The Senior Director, Talent Development will be responsible for establishing and driving a talent development strategy that enhances the skills, knowledge and capabilities of employees that enables them to enhance contributions and drive competitive advantage to the organization. Additionally, in this role you will lead employee engagement for the organization, where you will build, drive, and deliver initiatives and activities promoting our core values.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a highly effective talent development strategy that aligns with the overall organization’s strategic and long-term plans.
  • Partner with department heads and HR Business Partners to identify performance gaps and develop/source solutions to improve individual and team performance.
  • Develop clear career paths to align employees with growth opportunities within the organization and provide direction to employees regarding career opportunities.
  • Design new and update existing employee development programs using a blend of delivery methods (eLearning, instructor-led training, etc.).
  • Maintain all established talent development programming, ensuring consistency and that they meet the needs of the employee population (Leadership Competencies, 360 Feedback Assessment, etc.).
  • Manage all aspects of training lifecycle, to include supervision of ongoing training programs, development of future training programs, training consultation for key team members, communications of programs, managing budget, reporting and maintenance of training records, and management of vendors.
  • Lead the performance management cycle, supporting employee goal setting, mid-year reviews and year-end review training, coaching and system input.
  • Lead employee engagement for the organization, managing initiatives that motivate and inspire employees as well as promote our core values.
  • Establish and promote HR Best Practices and proactively identify and recommend solutions/programs based on assessment, feedback and data that will positively impact employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Manage the Learning Management System, auditing the system, updating, and uploading appropriate courses and working with course curation vendor to manage current course offerings.
  • Oversee compliance training, including topics around workplace harassment and code of conduct and ensure all employees complete training.
  • Define, analyze, and implement training metrics, objectives, key results, and productivity gains that inform the success of the trainings and tools.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree in Human Resources Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in human resources with a focus in organizational and talent development.
  • CPTD or APTD professional certification preferred.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing best practices in learning systems, processes, assessments and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic and tactical leadership to develop and manage complex employee development and learning programs.
  • Ability to evaluate skill requirements of the organization and develop solutions to fill gaps.
  • Proactively identifies potential issues and resolve with appropriate employee programs that improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Ability to lead and direct cross-functional teams in a time sensitive environment to implement new practices, programs, and procedures.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with a high comfort level of facilitating in small and large groups, including senior leadership.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills to successfully work across the organization.
  • Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal direction.
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance.

Total Rewards

Starting Base Salary: $145,000 – $190,000. MLS/SUM base salaries are contingent upon several factors including individual qualifications, market financials, and operational business needs.
