Job Summary
The Interventional Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) position has clinical, procedural, administrative and educational responsibilities in the care of patients requiring medical management of general cardiology, procedures related to the care and coordination of chronic care management of general cardiology diagnoses. Under the supervision of the Cardiology Ambulatory Chief and Cardiology Nurse Manager, the NP will have a critical role in the outpatient setting, with both team member and individual duties. These responsibilities will include patient examination and assessment, diagnosis and planning; treatment implementation, coordination and continuity; performance of specific procedures; development of practice protocols and evaluation of quality of care; education of patients, families and other health care practitioners.
One of the following National NP Board Certifications is required:
Adult Nurse Practitioner Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-C), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (GNP-C), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC), Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (GNP-BC), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP-BC), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (Adult Gerontology) (ACNPC-AG), Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC)

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
