I. Job Summary 

Are you a skilled Graphic Designer looking for a position where you are at the heart of the action? 

Waste Management is offering a great opportunity in a creative and invigorating environment for a Graphic Designer to transform our web presence. You will be responsible for leading the visual design for web site properties by interpreting the project's needs, gathering information and data to clarify design issues, and thinking creatively to produce ideas and solutions drawing from a strong background in usability and information design. This position will oversee aspects of graphic design for our systems as needed to satisfy business requirements and successfully and creatively integrate design feedback into visual artifacts.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Attracting target audience through appealing designs 
  • Preparing multiple mock-ups and /or design options.
  • Creating interfaces from idea to sketch to high fidelity design 
  • Thinking creatively to develop artistic concepts that are eye-catching and can sell services.
  • Documentation of visual artifacts.
  • Keeping abreast of new design trends 
  • Leadership for new visual design initiatives.
  • Multi-tasking by working on multiple projects with concurrent deadlines and providing leadership to digital team to meet deadlines and goals.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Junior level User Graphic Designers may report into this position.

IV. Qualifications 

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. 

A. Education and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (accredited) in communication/graphic design, interaction design, information design, interface design, Human-Computer Interaction, Usability or similar, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: 4 years of relevant work experience performing graphic designer work (in addition to education requirement).

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

  • None Required

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Strong creative, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player, interact with other technical teams.
  • Excellent soft skills.
  • Familiarity with visual art design, Trademarks, Copywriting and Media law, and usability principles.
  • Strong organization skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Substantial understanding of User Interface issues and Information Architecture.
