Position Summary:

As a member of the Enterprise Solutions & Applications (ESA) team you will play a crucial role in supporting and contributing to strategic initiatives as well as building and maintaining relationships with the business community.

In this role as the Application Test Lead of Salesforce, you will be responsible for leading and implementing test automation - including sourcing and implementing tools for Salesforce and connected applications, and manual testing processes in the department. This role collaborates closely with the business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Project Managers, the DevOps Manager, and other team members to ensure successful delivery of projects and enhancements.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of combined hands-on experience in test automation and manual QA, and comprehensive understanding of quality assurance principles and industry best practices.
  • Experience in Salesforce test automation tools like Copado, Azure, or others related.
  • Experience conducting manual testing on Salesforce.com platform.
  • Salesforce.com certification required; QA certification preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite is highly desired.
  • Experience in all phases of the SLDC and familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies with experience working in both Waterfall and Agile development environments.
  • Ability to lead, guide, and mentor team members who are new to test automation and manual testing.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps and familiarity with DevOps tools for Salesforce.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey test strategies, explain QA concepts, issues, and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to identify and address issues in both automated and manual testing processes.
  • Ability to manage testing efforts within project timelines and resource constraints.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence and Zephyr or similar tools to track bug life cycles and documentation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in both manual and automation testing.
  • Ability to work in a highly effective team environment prioritizing team results while being autonomous and accountable for individual deliverables.
  • Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to research and understand applications.
  • BS or BA in Business Operations, Computer Science, Information Services, or equivalent experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Automation and Testing

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites and industry standard frameworks and perform automated testing in Salesforce and connected applications like NetSuite.
  • Write and maintain automated test scripts using industry standard design patterns to write effective code.
  • In collaboration with the DevOps Manager, source and implement automation testing tools for Salesforce.com.
  • Understanding of test design techniques and develop comprehensive test strategies and plans and explain them to other stakeholders.
  • Use version control systems like Git to manage and version test scripts.
  • Using CI/CD tools for Salesforce.com e.g., Copado, Azure, Jenkins, etc., automate the testing and deployment process.
  • Create and maintain test documentation.
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman or similar.
  • Strong programming skills in languages commonly used for test automation, e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript or other.
  • Knowledge of and experience with testing frameworks like JUnit, TestNG or similar.
  • Understand behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber or similar.

Manual Testing

  • Design, implement, and maintain manual testing processes and coach other team members.
  • Perform various manual test types, implement processes, write, and maintain test documentation and coach other team members on manual testing best practices.
  • Write and maintain test plans, test cases, checklists, and other manual testing key components including conducting test case reviews.
  • Collaborate with the BA team to identify user story dependencies; participate in both grooming and planning working sessions to validate user story definition, impact, priority, and value and how these affect testing.
  • Facilitate defect triage and manage overall timely bug lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and report product defects in an easy to reproduce manner.
