Job Description

Building Services Engineering is a team of over 100 bright experts working in an international environment based out of offices in Madrid and Barcelona, and have completed projects across the globe.

We are looking to hire an inspirational Project Manager (Electrical or Mechanical background) to work closely with clients & architects and deliver upstanding construction projects.

For a successful performance in the role, you will need a strong technical knowledge in MEP engineering and previous experience of delivering large projects from concept design all the way through to tender stage.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To lead a team of MEP engineers, technical specialists to support the technical delivery of large building projects
  • To actively participate in the development of the delivery team and ensure AECOM delivers the quality required to ensure a successful outcome for AECOM and our Clients.
  • Be competent to deliver, review and approve engineering solutions
  • Support on bidding opportunities and act as the technical team leader for projects, from feasibility through to handover.
  • To identify change and where required liaise/support the project Commercial Manager with supporting technical justification for the change.
  • To act as the main point of contact for MEP with design teams.
  • Ensure financial targets and internal KPI’s are met including motivating others to contribute.
  • To prepare and present designs, reports and specifications.
  • Contribute to the update of AECOM standards.
  • To grow Client and Architect relationships to support the continued growth of the business.
  • To act as a mentor to junior staff, promoting CPD activities.
  • To maintain and enhance expertise within the team and as an individual.
  • To lead and support AECOM Net zero carbon strategy

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Degree educated in electrical or mechanical engineering or related discipline.

  • Experience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with clients.
  • A highly motivated individual with excellent technical understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering along with a solid understanding of the requirements of other disciplines collaborating on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • A track record of successful collaboration with design teams nationally and internationally.
  • Ability to speak English fluently and communicate effectively in written reports and oral presentations.
  • Relevant experience in Building Services design, including areas such as specification writing, calculations, and developing designs from first principles and conversant with national/International codes and standards.
  • Able to make decisions, act on their own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
