The Princeton WET LAB (https://ren.princeton.edu/) in the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment and Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is seeking a postdoctoral research associate or more senior researcher with expertise and interest in:

1) Greenhouse gas accounting and mitigation in wastewater and water sectors

2) Large language models in environmental applications

Desired candidates will have the following experience:

  • Greenhouse gas accounting (life cycle assessment, N2O/CH4 monitoring in lab or field settings, flux chamber, liquid sensor, mobile/drone monitoring methods, mechanistic or machine learning modeling, etc.
  • Large language models, natural language processing, prompt engineering, strong programming skills in Python or other languages, experience in handling and analyzing large datasets, understanding of environmental related data types.
  • Strong self-motivation, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Publications in relevant areas.

The researcher will work with funding agencies, industry partners, collaborators, and other team members on these emerging and multidisciplinary topics. We are interested in receiving applications from members of groups that have been historically underrepresented in engineering, computer science, and natural sciences.

The appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding.
