The Internal Audit US Personal Banking (USPB) team is responsible for providing independent assurance over the key risks and processes associated with Citi’s US Personal Banking (USPB) line of business and the associated servicing and operations. USPB serves Citi’s home market with the largest consumer wallet in the world and offers consumer branded cards, retail services and retail banking (including mortgages). The IA USPB Team covers the end-to-end consumer product lifecycle from design of new products to the end-to-end customer experience. The IA USPB Team consists of audit and analytics professionals located in the US: Florida, New York, Delaware, North Carolina, Texas; Mississauga, Canada, and Mumbai, India.

The Data Analytics Sr Lead Analyst will lead a team of Internal Audit data analytics staff who are responsible for providing audit assurance coverage leveraging analytical tools, data science, and innovation for the Internal Audit US Personal Banking (USPB). The successful candidate will have a strong Internal Audit background and quantitative knowledge to include programming skills: SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other data science and analytics. Will work with all levels of management within Internal Audit and applicable business organizations. Manage day to day development, production, and project activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees, designs, and maintains analytical and innovations solutions for audits and issue validations.
  • Engages with Internal Audit and Business stakeholders to determine IA validation requirements across Citi's complex and evolving data landscape.
  • Implements leading analytics and data science techniques to provide the greatest level of assurance with the fewest false positives.
  • Manage and maintain various data repositories for efficient testing and continuous auditing.
  • Document complex analytical testing results in simple non-technical writing.
  • Apply modern automation techniques to minimize the resource cost of scheduled and repeatable analytical testing.
  • Perform/lead audits and initiatives in accordance with methodologies and professional standards, including drafting of reports, presenting issues to the business, and discussing practical solutions.
  • Lead medium to large scale projects while managing time sensitive ad-hoc requests.
  • Leverages data science (statistics, NLP, ML, AI) to conduct broad and deep testing to identify data quality concerns, or potential weaknesses in data governance. 
  • Frequently involved in matters that require complex solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought and judgement, such as identifying solutions for a variety of complex and audit control issues.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Strong management skills with a minimum of 8 years of practical analytics experience managing both people and process serving multiple clients.
  • Excellent analytical abilities to quickly identify control or data related issues leveraging a variety of data analysis techniques and approaches.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following analytical or data science tools: SQL, Python, SAS
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive results with a high sense of urgency.
  • Proven ability to execute concurrently on a portfolio of high-quality deliverables according to strict timetables.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement and innovation in audit tools and techniques.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment.

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience. Degree in Analytics, Data Science, MIS, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Information Technology (IT) preferred.
