The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Services Graduate to join our team in High Wycombe, Reading or London.

Our well-established team are seeking a graduate to join them in applying the power of data and analytics to help clients achieve better outcomes.

Our data scientists and analysts thrive upon advising our clients across the Water Sector and help them gain insights from data and real value from the adoption of technology.

As a Digital Graduate (Data Analyst), you could be working with Stantec developed tools such as Surface Water Assessor to show potential opportunities for surface water management and sustainable drainage, or Flood Prediction Tools to prevent or react more quickly to internal flooding in water networks.

Day-to-day you could also be involved with:

  • Data Management, Processing & Translation – Database design and management, FME, GIS
  • Data Analysis – GIS, Tableau, Python, R, Machine Learning
  • Data Visualisation – GIS, PowerBI, web tools

About you:

As an individual, you’ll be innovative and inquisitive in nature, have a desire to work within the water sector as well as:

  • An honours degree in related to technology or the environment including data/computer science, engineering, mathematics, or sciences.
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK at the time you start employment.
  • A good communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders and appreciate different perspectives.

Have some knowledge of and a keen willingness to learn skills in:

  • Programming (e.g., Python, Ruby, C#, SQL…)
  • Web development (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, PHP)
  • Business intelligence (Microsoft Power BI or equivalent) and GIS (ArcGIS)
  • Data Mining/ Manipulation (FME)

Experience of engineering or environmental data science related analytics would be an advantage.

Any evidence of the skills listed above (including examples from non-work activities or academic projects) would strengthen a candidate’s application.

Land Aid

Stantec has partnered with property sector charity LandAid as one of its corporate partners to join its mission to end youth homelessness.

In 2019/20, an estimated 120,000 young people asked for help from their local council because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness.

It’s a problem that LandAid are here to help tackle.

As the Property Industry Charity, LandAid unite over 200 organisations from across the sector, working together to bring an end to youth homelessness.

As a Charitable Trust, they distribute funding to frontline charities supporting the young and homeless – and primarily fund capital projects, such as renovating homes and building bedspaces.

We have seen the incredible impact that can happen when the industry unites and so Stantec are proud to be working alongside LandAid this year.
