Role Overview

This role is part of the Digital Partner Experience track who work to unlock scalable conversations to establish a digital relationship with our accommodation partners. Our target audience is a diverse range of accommodation partners globally who are currently in partnership or in the process of partnering with Booking.com. 

As an Email Marketing Program Manager, you will lead and implement advanced marketing automation strategies, with a focus on email marketing, for our accommodation partners. To do so, you closely collaborate and consult with different business and product teams within the organization to create and implement multi channel go to market strategies. You steer and operate different push channels like email or banners in our extranet, and work with content creators and data analysts / scientists to continuously optimize our different digital touchpoints. Your impact comes from creating a digital relationship with our partners by taking accountability for prioritizing the right focus and refining the digital strategies & approaches across all different partner communications. In this role, you will drive constant improvements across our digital operations, channels and processes that contribute further to the success of your program.

The ideal candidate will be self-directed, highly self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex and matrix environment. This individual will have a background in email & digital marketing, very strong coordination and project management skills, and effective communication and stakeholder management skills to handle a variety of activities and complexities spanning cross-functional teams.

This position will have sporadic on-call responsibilities due to partner crisis related campaign support

The role is offered on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract basis 

Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

Email & Digital Marketing

  • Lead, develop and implement advanced marketing automations, with a focus on email marketing, for complex business partner projects.
  • Manage, consult and support business and product owners across the company to define requirements, target audience, segmentation and messaging to develop and implement multi channel go to market strategies from tool selection to reporting.
  • Constantly drive optimization and improvements improving channel reach and engagement using data analysis, A/B testing and experimentation.
  • Investigate, define and drive opportunities that contribute to your area’s success; including marketing automation capabilities, email, banner ads, and notifications.
  • Be the voice of the partners within the organization based on the partner needs framework and research & partners’ feedback to ensure qualitative & effective communication.

Project Management

  • Build high-quality project plans/delivery pathways that map timings/ownership for important business partner projects.
  • Performance tracking of own projects, providing a centralized view of the partner experience ensuring that key collaborators are aware of the health of our communication and if any key actions are required.
  • Use data to identify and prioritize work that drives value to the team and/or company.

Stakeholder Management

  • Establish long-term, productive relationships with a diverse set of internal stakeholders.
  • Actively influence cross-team relationships to gain wide acceptance of interdependencies and collaboration and ensure learnings and successes are widely shared amongst relevant communities.
  • Accelerate not only individual scope, but others’ topics as well, based on effective stakeholder management.

Program Ownership

  • Drive the long-term team vision through generating new projects and initiatives, bringing all team members on board.
  • Prioritize user stories and projects, based on the expected business impact.
  • Define key success metrics for their area in line with company, department and team strategies, monitor overall performance, and initiate optimizations in their topic area.
  • Take ownership in setting and elevating standards in their area of expertise.

Role Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an analytically focused degree such as Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Science, etc.
  • A minimum of 5 years of email marketing experience, including hands-on experience with creating / coordinating campaigns across multiple channels
  • A minimum of 3 years of project management experience ideally in an eCommerce and omni-channel environments
  • Experience with planning and deploying marketing automation to achieve measurable results. Marketo expertise a plus.
  • Creative problem solver with excellent analytical skills and a learning mentality. Basic SQL experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication with the ability to facilitate discussions with executives and execution teams, and the ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
  • Deep understanding of project, program and portfolio planning and delivery and be able to set standards, propose policy/process, and coach others
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently high performer with the ability to manage parallel tracks and expectations for project scope changes, seeing intersection points, and mitigating risks
  • Strong team player with a high degree of flexibility and positive communication that motivates and influences achievement of team objectives
  • Commercially aware to effectively prioritize and make decisions based on business needs
  • Comfortable interacting throughout the organization and with external partners
  • Consistent track record of change management, supporting team members and business stakeholders.
