Training and Logistics Solutions (TLS) Integrated Engineering is seeking an experienced systems, software, or firmware engineer to lead the development of a retrofit solution for the motion control system within the F-35 Training Infrastructure and Product Support (TIPS) organization.

The Work:

As a key member of our Systems Engineering team you will:

  • Lead a team of 5-10 engineers from diverse disciplines through the development, testing, and installation of a complex safety-critical retrofit for simulators.
  • Enable and manage the performance of multi-disciplined engineering teams by setting and communicating organizational vision, expectations, and objectives.
  • Ensure engineering activity integrity through quantitative and qualitative management approaches, complying with Command Media, and making data-driven decisions.
  • Actively monitor staffing demand and ensure sufficient supply.
  • Promote continual identification and active management of team risks and opportunities.
  • Champion continuous improvement activities aligned with Digital Transformation.
  • Organize and facilitate personal and career development of team members, ensuring necessary training and skills for success.
  • Partner with Human Resources to promote a "people first" culture and address personnel-related matters promptly.
  • Foster an inclusive work environment valuing diversity, out-of-the-box thinking, and seeing the big picture.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline, with 9 or more years of professional experience; or a Master’s degree with 7 or more years of professional experience.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical engineering concepts.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining system design artifacts.
  • Modeling behaviors and interactions of system subcomponents.
  • Experience planning and coordinating systems/software development in a team-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps practices inclusive of Agile Product Development leveraging Scrum & Kanban.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge in Programmable Logic Controller or Firmware design.
  • Knowledge software engineering concepts.
  • Industrial motion control design.
  • Experience in Systems Engineering or Complex Systems Integration & Test, and Model-Based Engineering (MBE) processes, principles, and tools.
  • Scrum Master/Jira task management.
  • Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM).
