Job Description:

The SCG (Secure Computing Group) Business Unit develops and markets security solutions as embedded controllers, Root of Trust and Secure Elements (CryptoAuthentication / CryptoAutomotive) along with a complete ecosystem of software and hardware tools to enable customer’s design. The SCG product line marketing team defines, launches, and promotes these products and solutions to solve customer’s security design challenges.

What will you do in this position? 

We're looking for a Technical Product Line Marketing Manager with strong Business Development experience to primarily manage our Client Compute Product Line but also drive the business opportunities and contribute to the revenue growth in the America territory for the entire SCG Portfolio. 

The ideal candidate demonstrates a good technical understanding of security solutions and implementation at system level, exhibits a customer-focused attitude with an aptitude of building strong customer relationships and the ability to work in a team environment with others in the organization. The role is also a key contributor to future product roadmap definition and end market strategies. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive the definition of Client Compute Product line roadmap in cooperation with the System Engineering team.
  • Create key deliverables such as RFQ responses, Pricing strategy, forecasting, Market & Competitive analysis and working with product management to produce compelling product collateral related to security in the Client Compute Product Line.
  • Candidate must possess excellent and effective oral and written communications skills, including the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, and the ability to present effectively to Microchip Tier 1 Customers, internal audiences and consortiums.
  • Support field sales and applications teams to identify opportunities and help drive them to revenue.
  • Establish credibility and excellent working relationships with the field sales, field applications and management teams by providing value.
  • Generate sales training and customer presentations to address customer needs and position Microchip solutions.
  • Travel into various regions to visit customers with sales, deliver trainings and contribute to opportunity reviews.
  • Be a technical resource and/or liaison for field sales and applications to facilitate customer support from factory applications team as needed.
  • Understand the competitive landscape of the Security market.
  • Contribute to SCG end segment strategy and customer support requirements by providing feedback for future product development.
  • Collaborate with other business units, marketing, applications, and field teams to expand Microchip’s utilization on our customer’s designs.

Candidate must demonstrate that they are a self-starter, self-directed, and highly motivated with a desire to make an impact.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BSEE or equivalent with technical marketing and/or business development experience.
  • Experience in the security market is required.
  • Demonstrated Product Management experience.
  • Semiconductor business model knowledge and specifically Secure Element / Embedded Controller business is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with hardware and or software development for embedded systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to influence internal/external customers, consortiums and key decision makers on our technology and strategy.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Applications, Marketing, Sales or equivalent.

  • Must be able to demonstrate teamwork in a cross-functional, global team environment and be able to establish constructive working relationships with customers and field sales teams.
  • Excellent communication skills in English including messaging, presentation development and delivery with an ability to influence internal/external customers, consortiums, and key decision makers, including genuine listening skills.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn.
  • Available for travel for client meetings, trainings, and trade shows.
