Senior Vice President, B2B2C Communications

Fleishman-Hillard

FleishmanHillard, a global integrated communications agency, is seeking a Senior Vice President to serve as a Client Relationship Manager (CRM) and account leader in our Raleigh office. This role will set the strategy and manage and coordinate the marketing and advertising initiatives of a key client from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is an excellent team leader and collaborator. We seek someone with the tenacity, resourcefulness, business sense, proactive curiosity, and cool-headedness to behave like the CEO of their account. Regular interactions with senior-level clients are a critical component of this position, which is focused on developing and implementing marketing and advertising strategies and programs for a business-to-business client whose main audience exhibits behaviors and traits similar to that of a consumer.

The Senior Vice President will touch every aspect of a project in some way--from the relationship with the client, to the relationship with the team, and from strategy and finance to creative and production-- to ensure that a project meets the client’s and agency’s ambitions to generate great, effective creative work, on time and on budget, and to motivate the team along the way. You will deepen the client relationship and grow their business in a meaningful way. Your day-to-day work will be strategic in nature, developing initiatives and providing creative, practical solutions to client issues.

This role focuses nearly entirely on the marketing and advertising strategies of the client’s business, with some focus on capabilities such as earned and social media. The ability and vision to integrate multiple marketing, advertising, and communications tactics – and connect the dots – will be critical to success.

At FleishmanHillard, we embrace challenges, think boldly, trust each other, and harness our talented worldwide network to provide the best in class counsel to our roster of remarkable global clients. Are you ready to join the team?

We recognize that diversity and inclusion benefit our agency, our clients, and the communities in which we work and live. To that end, we strongly encourage applications from women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ community, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. As part of our ongoing effort to be the world’s most inclusive agency, we are committed to seeking candidates who possess and demonstrate a profound interest in furthering our DE&I goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the agency’s quarterback, able to create the conditions for the creative work to thrive. This senior leader has high emotional intelligence and is able to nurture junior team members as well as client relationships.
  • Act as a business partner across multiple clients, using deep knowledge and understanding of the clients’ business in order to create the best conditions for the right work to thrive, leading to the success and growth of both our partners and our agency.
  • Manage internal teams (direct reports, colleagues and senior team members) with poise, clarity and integrity, building followership across the board.
  • Work closely with strategists, planners and creative leaders on the development of marketing and advertising campaigns and programs to achieve client goals.
  • Gain the input, opinion, approval and trust of colleagues.
  • Navigate agency processes effortlessly and lean on the internal expertise available (across offices) to deliver outstanding creative solutions to a range of business problems.
  • Demonstrate fluency in and have the ability to manage and execute the many phases of the creative process: client intake, research, audience analysis, customer journey mapping, brief development, strategy-setting, development of a creative platform, client reviews and approvals, building and production of creative assets and sharing the assets with other key partners.
  • Foresee issues before they arise and take pressure off the team by tackling the difficult conversations and knowing when to escalate for support.
  • Maintain keen awareness of the value the agency brings to the table for the benefit of clients.
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset and always be on the hunt for growth on accounts, keeping an eye out for client needs and quickly translating those needs into a solution that grows the agency business. Continuously seek new ways to deepen the client relationship.

Qualifications:

  • 15 years of marketing and advertising experience, preferably within an agency environment or in-house.
  • Prior experience developing and implement marketing programs, advertising campaigns, customer journey mapping, paid, earned and owned initiatives, campaign integration, national campaigns with local activations, sponsorship activations, social media initiatives, and multi-channel efforts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or related field.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with executive creative directors, art directors, designers, copywriters, planners, strategists and other team members on the development of marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • Excellent writer with the ability to draft and edit all types of materials – project briefs, creative briefs, presentations, manifestos, taglines, guidelines, and social and digital content.
  • Ability to oversee the work of project managers and, at times, serve as a project manager to ensure work is delivered at the highest quality and on time.
  • Proven ability to build rapport with senior client leaders.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with experience contributing to new-business efforts and driving organic growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and run multiple projects at once.
  • A solid understanding of business and marketing and advertising strategies.
  • Possesses an eager willingness to grow with the organization.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
  • Strong overall communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for leveraging creativity to solve business challenges.
