Temporary Trainee Manager (32 - 40hours Per Week - Internal or Previous Employees Only)

Lush

Diversity matters

We are building a brand that represents the people of the world. It’s what you do that counts, and we are always looking to expand perspectives and voices to shape our future.

We see you, we celebrate you, we want you!

Who we are

You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there’s more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than it takes and demonstrate that capitalism can be a force for good. We put our people first and fight cruel practices like animal testing, promote regeneration, and show that it is what’s inside that counts - whether that’s an ingredient in a product, or the minerals in a smartphone.

The role/team

Responsibilities:

Trainee Managers work alongside our Shop Managers, learning every element of the job and managing the shop in the absence of the Manager. Trainee Managers provide leadership and co-ordination on our shop floors, manage back of house tasks and set an aspirational example of customer service for the team. If you want your own Lush shop one day, or a chance to flex your already diverse skillset, Trainee Manager is a great opportunity for you!

What we look for:

  • A thirst for driving the business, and strong business know-how
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Adequate experience with managing and motivating people
  • Success with training and developing others
  • A passion for our products
  • A wish to progress to Shop Manager roles

What you receive in return:

  • Skills in running an effective shop floor
  • Training on our systems and back of house processes
  • A competitive salary and management bonus scheme
  • Product training
  • Working with a fabulous and skilled team!

As Trainee Manager is a full time position, you must be available for seven days a week, and will usually work five of those, one to be a weekend day.

Skills and experience:

Previous people and business management experience is essential for this role.

What’s it like working for Lush

We want you to enjoy and challenge yourself, build a career, and teach us what we don’t know, so we’ve created a culture where your job description is a starting point, not an end goal. Our working style is flexible, fluid, supportive, and authentic - if you’ve got the drive to push yourself and try different things, you will have our support.
