Director, GroupM Data & Analytics Services 

ABOUT US 

The GroupM Data & Analytics Services team combines ad-tech and mar-tech strategy with data science & data engineering expertise to make advertising work better for clients and consumers. 

Collaborating with GroupM search, social and programmatic services teams, adtech and media partners, the DAS team deploys world class analytics solutions impacting $4B+ in US Media investment across our agencies - Catalyst, Essence, MediaCom, Mindshare and Wavemaker. 

ABOUT THE ROLE: 

We are looking for a talented Director to join our leadership team and manage the delivery of data engineering projects for GroupM’s agencies and clients. In this role, you will be responsible to manage a team of highly skilled data engineers, scientists and analysts to deliver data-driven solutions to exceed client goals. 

As the Director, Data and Analytics, you will work with the agency and client to enable the data and tech solutions that lay the foundation for executing brand & performance marketing.  

YOUR IMPACT: 

  • Set the vision, strategy, and roadmap to deliver cutting edge data, technology and analytics solutions across a portfolio of clients 
  • Become a trusted advisor to clients and consult on growth opportunities and identify new way to use data to solve business challenges and support growth, 
  • Support development and deployment of GroupM products and services across multiple cloud environments 
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of client leads, application developers, operations engineers, and architects to translate complex product requirements into technical specs and design requirements 
  • Maintain a high degree of knowledge in cloud data architecture and ETL best practices especially across Google Cloud Platform products and services 
  • Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in GroupM Data & Analytics, GroupM Engineering and agency data science and tech leads 
  • Build & manage a team of experts in Data Strategy, Measurement/Business Analysts, Advanced Analytics and Marketing Technology specialists to deliver best in class audience, measurement strategy in collaboration with Client, Strategy, and Investment teams. 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 10 years + relevant work experience in data, insights, analytics, and technology with expertise in digital media. 
  • 3-4 years of experience managing a team of data, analytics and advertising tech & marketing tech specialists and strong management skills. 
  • Bachelor’s or Graduate in Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science. Economics, Operations Research or related quantitative field. 
  • Experience with digital data technologies and partners (1st and 3rd party data, data lakes, data clean rooms, identity solutions, …) 
  • Experience with the following GCP or equivalent Services: Cloud Storage, DataProc, Dataflow, CloudSQL, BigQuery 
  • Experience with building data pipes landing large files into Azure/GCP/AWS for processing, developing/ cleansing data for AI/ML purposes 
  • Experience with source code management systems 
  • Use of Data Profiling Tools, ETL and Data Management Tools 
  • Data warehousing/data modeling experience, with strong understanding of semantic and physical data models 
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology 
  • Able to deliver a broad range of data engagements in areas such as Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Analytics, Data Governance, Data Quality and BI Reporting 
  • Understanding of data analysis techniques and how they can be applied in the marketing context beneficial 
  • Experience with the full development life cycle of an application stack - from architecture through test and deployment preferred 
  • Thorough knowledge of advertising ecosystem, understanding of marketing metrics, and analytical products offered as a service is preferred 
  • Excellent written, oral communication, project management and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Experience speaking to various groups and clients with varying analytics backgrounds and distilling complicated analytics/data concepts 

The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $100,000 to $230,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
