POSITION SUMMARY

ESRT is seeking an innovative and skilled Application Developer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for advancing our technological capabilities across various departments including marketing, public relations and digital, accounting, information technology, project management, property management, leasing, legal, sustainability, travel and tourism, financial planning and analysis, investments and acquisitions, administrative support, office services and human resources.

The Application Developer will work closely with the Application Development Team in implementing leading major application development projects. The position will start with responsibility for the current systems and processes, evolving to include re-architecture, re-engineering and new projects that support the strategic direction of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take a lead role in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment
  • Contribute to the architectural decisions and design discussions for applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions
  • Collaborate with App Dev team to research and develop cutting AI technology
  • Design and develop integrations, APIs, and services
  • Ensure the quality of software through thorough testing processes
  • Provide support in designing, prototyping, building, and maintaining Salesforce.com applications and customizations
  • Design and develop ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading, contributing to efficient data transformations aligned with business needs
  • Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Business Intelligence (BI) tools
  • Design and develop Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions to automate repetitive and rule-based business processes
  • Utilize Git for version control and integrate best practices in DevOps and continuous integration/deployment
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for both internal and external use
  • Stay current with industry trends and new technologies, advocating for the adoption of best practices and tools
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including cyber specialists, network specialists, business analysts and project managers to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Work with manager and collaborate with business leaders to understand the organization, its strategic objectives, and business needs
  • Collaborate with onshore and offshore developers to support various technologies
  • Work within an agile environment

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Success encompasses the development and deployment of high-quality solutions within specified timelines and meeting or exceeding project requirements. Positive feedback from clients, end-users, or stakeholders indicating that the developed solutions meet their needs and expectations. Clear communication of technical concepts, and effective teamwork. You are agile and understand the various needs of business units.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Strong skills in programming languages like C++, Python, C#, or Java
  • Strong skills in API design and development
  • Experience in designing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications
  • Familiarity with application architectural patterns and best practices
  • Proficient in various testing methodologies and test-driven development (TDD)
  • Experience in Salesforce customization, configuration, APIs, and development
  • Proficient in Git, version control and DevOps principles
  • Experience working with ETL tools and data warehousing
  • Proficiency in BI analytic tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Experience in developing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions
  • Understanding of database architecture
  • Proficient in Business process understanding
  • Experience in creating clear and concise technical documentation
  • Experience working in agile environments
  • Ability to work in a team and independently

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • A bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology
  • 5-7 years’ experience in application development.
  • Experience in Real Estate, Finance or Tour and Travel is a plus.

The salary for this position is $125,000 - $135,000. Salary is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, job location, size of property where applicable, and/or certifications.
