What You Will Do:

Gannett Fleming's Security and Safety services group provide technical, executive advise, and program support to help our clients to mitigate risks to the public, their personnel, and their property. Through security and safety analysis, planning, design, certification, and oversight solutions, we help our client’s protect the people and assets that are important to their mission and supporting our nation’s economy.

Our Security and Safety team is currently looking for a dynamic Busines Analyst / Documentation Specialist in our Roseville CA offices. Daily office location will vary from the Roseville Office, home, and client site. 

As an Analyst in Gannett Fleming’s Security and Safety Practice, you will provide project assistance for a wide variety of emergency preparedness, security, regulation compliance, and strategic communication projects. Interest or experience in utilities, emergency management, security, or safety is preferred. 

Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn and an interest in mitigation strategies to help our clients effectively manage both manmade and natural risks.

This position requires digital fluency, strong attention to detail and the ability to self-manage projects from initiation to completion with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with the research and analysis of technical documents to better understand a client’s infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist and help manage various database systems, tools, and applications used for program management process, incident response, hazard identification, incident reporting and real time response. 
  • Assist with trend analysis, preparing reports, and conducting training on the various tools and programs. 
  • Create detailed notetaking during client meetings to provide summaries to project managers and clients.
  • Assist with technical writing of detailed reports, policies, plans, procedures, and visual presentations.
  • Advanced editing and formatting capabilities in Microsoft Word.
  • Organizing database management and general program files.
  • Assistance in the execution and facilitation of in-person and virtual client meetings.
  • Assistance with strategic communications activities such as the interpretation of technical information for a public audience, graphic design, video or digital media development, and public outreach activities.
  • Actively problem-solve and develop creative solutions to meet team and client needs in an ever-changing world.

Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Art or Science degree from an accredited college or university, will consider recent graduates with internship experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work simultaneously on multiple project assignments while in a hybrid environment (office and remote).
  • Proven skills in written and verbal communications 
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is preferred
  • Capable of up to 10% travel within California

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification from a recognized emergency management, public safety, or security organization is preferred.
  • Three (3) years hands-on emergency or risk management experience including aspects of all hazard assessments, and the application, design, and integration of a training and exercise requirements to support an emergency management program.
  • Three (3) years of experience supporting clients, preferably in a consulting role.
  • Understanding of emergency management terminology, to include FEMA’s National Incident Management System (NIMS).
