The Role: LongTerm Care RN/LPN at Gray Birch on the Pines Unit

The Opportunity:

$10,000 sign-on bonus potential for experienced RNs & LPNs who accept 30+ hour positions at Gray Birch. (New MGH hires only. Rehires within 1 year are not eligible. Bonus is paid out in 3 increments.)

MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Long Term Care at Gray Birch strives to provide the most comprehensive skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, long-term care and assisted living options to the southern Kennebec Valley community.

The Pines is a long-term nursing care unit where our compassionate team of nurses are committed to offering excellent skilled nursing care to patients who require a longer stay and who need help to maximize their abilities and enhance their quality of life. We are dedicated to making every patient’s stay a comfortable and engaging one by offering a wide variety of activities & meal choices daily.

This is a 36 hour position on the night shift. You will work three 12 hour shifts per week, 7p-7a. Weekend & holiday rotation required.

The Work:

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires. May perform assigned supervisory responsibilities as needed.

You have: 

  • Either a current State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license or ability to obtain one in a timely fashion
  • Ability to independently seek out resources and work collaboratively
  • 1 year of nursing experience preferred, new grads welcome to apply!
  • Ability to effectively manage time and multiple priorities
  • Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills
