The Principal Technical Project Manager has day-to-day responsibility for managing multiple complex software development programs to completion. You will coordinate and lead the activities of multiple cross-functional scrum teams to complete projects in support of Walmart omnichannel business strategy and objectives. You will also take on portfolio responsibilities to help us get better at Portfolio management.

  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Portfolio, Program and Project Management and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans
  • Interacts with key Business Stakeholders, Engineering/Product Leaders, and Executive sponsors
  • Develops and promotes Program and Project Management best practices
  • Builds roadmaps and leads the development of complex eCommerce programs and projects
  • Manages delivery for geographically distributed teams, off-shore development teams and third-party vendors
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field and 7 years experience in program management, project management, office management, or related field OR 9 years’ experience in portfolio management, program management, project management, office management, or related field

  • Ability to understand, manage and lead on portfolio strategy, finances and ways of working
  • Ability to manage multiple medium to high complexity programs in an agile environment
  • Ability to manage complex programs involving cross-functional teams and multiple external dependencies in an agile environment
  • Ability to understand complex technical architectures and solutions
  • Excellent communicator, influencer and has natural ability to build good relationships and create impact within the org
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology, an Agile enthusiast and coach
  • Ability to constantly move or push towards a goal
  • Comfortable in a fast paced, growing environment
  • Thrives with ambiguity
  • Comfortable presenting to and persuading at the Director and Vice President level

Preferred Qualifications

  • People leader, manage and lead a group of strong Technical Project Managers
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and an Agile Coach
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, Program Management Professional (PgMP) or Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP)
  • Knowledge of Portfolio Management
  • Knowledge of large scale Program Management
  • Experience with mobile app development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, project mgmt tools, etc.
