What We Offer

This is a full-time, salaried position. The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The lifetime pay range for this position is $82,540 - $136,191. The hiring range for this position falls within: $90,000 - $100,000. Location

Denver Arts & Venues supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work in an office several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

In this position you can expect to work:

  • On-site at the DAV offices located in downtown Denver a minimum of two days per week
  • Hybrid model allows for remote work for a maximum of three days per week
  • The majority of work occurs during normal business hours, however since this position is part of the entertainment industry, all team members help out occasionally on nights and weekends

About Denver Arts & Venues

Denver Arts & Venues operates Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver Performing Arts Complex, Colorado Convention Center, Denver Coliseum and McNichols Civic Center Building, using proceeds from events at these venues to run and maintain these facilities and to provide access to art for all through free and low-cost community events, grants for artists and arts organizations, public art and art education. What You’ll Do

Denver Arts & Venues is looking to hire a Marketing and Communications Specialist, with multiple years of entertainment marketing experience to join our agency and work on brands such as Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver Performing Arts Complex, Denver Public Art, Five Points Jazz Festival and other cultural programs.

Specifically, as the Marketing and Communications Specialist, you will:

  • Develop strategic marketing plans for venues and cultural programs which consist of: marketing and sales campaigns, event promotion, ticket sales, content development, media planning, brand positioning, corporate partnership promotions and program communications
  • Implement major marketing and promotional programs by managing timelines and budget, coordinating with internal teammates and partners, collaborating with external agency partners and business/community organizations
  • Build advertising campaigns comprised of digital media and traditional media to promote marketing promotions, events, ticket sales and other agency activities
  • Lead event promotion by monitoring sales data and using the marketing mix to provide strategic revenue-focused ideas to increase ticket sales while collaborating with national promoters, ticketing companies and team members
  • Develop and implement revenue-generating programs aimed to increase event ticket sales, food + beverage concessions, branded merchandise, fan experiences, corporate partnership promotions, loyalty and other expanded categories
  • Develop budgets for marketing, sales and advertising programs while reviewing and approving allocations and expenditures
  • Build and execute media strategy. Lead media planning, research and negotiate rates, conduct media buys with media outlets and vendors across our portfolio of brands and audiences
  • Create original content: concept ideas, deploy messaging and storytelling through digital channels including email, website, social media, video and on-site platforms. Pitch national + local artists and influencers for content / video / media opportunities
  • Manage social media: Develop and grow social media accounts through engaging content. Publish, post and schedule content across multiple platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, TikTok and YouTube. Monitor social and digital marketing industry trends and adapt our platforms accordingly
  • Manage email campaigns, including the creation and deployment of various newsletters and event know-before-you-go emails
  • Manage website updates across multiple brands in WordPress and other CMS platforms
  • Develop and maintain strong brand positioning: Own, maintain and guide branding efforts including identity, voice, graphics and audience development
  • Develop, enhance and revise marketing collateral for web, print, or other media channels

  • Prior experience in entertainment marketing is required: experience in music, sports, arts, culture and adjacent lifestyle brands will be given priority
  • Prior experience with event ticketing and coordination with event promoters is preferred
  • Exceptional skills and knowledge of digital strategy, social media and content best practices (also managing and updating websites, email, social media)
  • Comfort with reviewing data analytics and using it to drive decisions and communication
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work cross-functionally with team members at all levels of an organization
  • Ability to overcome barriers and meet goals with creative problem solving skills, especially in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organization and project management skills to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver them on time and on budget
  • Self-starter with the ability and drive to work autonomously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related field
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of full performance, professional level experience performing marketing and/or public relations functions including research and analysis, developing public announcements and publications, and developing marketing and/or public relations strategies
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
  • License/Certifications: Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
