Title: Director, Project Management

Company/Location: New Jersey

Department/Discipline: Project Management

The Director of Project Management develops and directs the strategic planning of projects on assigned business units/brands. The Director oversees the health of the brand(s) including ownership of roadmaps and launch planning, management of the scope of work, people management of project managers who support the projects, coordination of resources, and implementation of optimized processes. They also seek and develop methodologies for standardized project management process and operations.

Project Management

  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of multiple projects and priorities on across assigned brands, being accountable for project results and drive decision-making along with brand leaders, direct report staff, and external stakeholders
  • Create detailed roadmaps and project plans, overseeing the day-to-day operations of a cross-functional, unified intra-agency, in a nimble and agile environment
  • Prioritize tasks, communicate deliverables, ensure the team stays on targets with budgets and deadlines and regularly communicate with senior leadership on the status of projects, escalating issues as needed
  • Work with brand leaders and cross-functional team members, to holistically manage the delivery of assets across various platforms and navigate competing priorities, allocating resources appropriately, and effectively clearing roadblocks
  • Provide transparency and visibility into overall health of assign brand projects, including resource allocation, capacity, finances, timelines, and submissions, eliminating information silos and miscommunications
  • Ensure status meetings, hot sheets, timelines, and meeting notes are prepared for assigned brand(s)
  • Oversight of finances between agency and intra-agency partners

Operations & Best Practices

  • Author agency-wide and intra-agency workflows and best practices with respect to new or existing process and oversee internal education on these items
  • Establish project management disciplines and processes, balancing agile methodologies and adaptability with multistep production workflows to achieve production goals
  • Provide thought leadership to identify opportunities for process optimizations for project management functionality, production cycle times, and production cost management.
  • Evaluate new digital management technology as part of recommended operation solutions
  • Create and maintain visualization diagrams for existing and proposed workflows, process guides, and training materials
  • Review plans and documents with brand leadership peers to secure sign off from senior leadership

People Management

  • Oversee people management activities including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, weekly check-ins, goal setting, performance activities, and evaluations
  • Provide mentorship and career development for assigned project managers, positioning team members to take on new opportunities and growth
  • Improve effective resource utilization on the project management team, and drive reductions in project costs through forward planning, resource allocations, and coordination

Relationship Management

  • Facilitate communication and improve productivity by providing a collaborative framework for cross-functional team members to partner, drive decisions, avoid chaos, and operate as one team
  • Work with the internal account and digital production brand counterparts to develop detailed and effective plans and monitor all aspects of project lifecycle, including scope, change and submission management
  • Coordinate and inspire internal resources and external partners to deliver high quality, forward thinking, digital assets that align to client/brand goals

Risk Management & Analysis

  • Analyze production workflows to find efficiency gaps and collaborate with project management peers and senior leadership to standardize workflows
  • Enable rapid production decision-making through visibility into project data, including risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and cost avoidance opportunities
  • Design and implement project Key Performance Indicators [KPIs] on health, status, and progress of individual projects, as well as overall brand performance
  • Ensure client and internal stakeholders are managed effectively and updated on progress with risks, dependencies, and issues
  • Determine how results will be measured and complete post-project evaluations to determine how well results were achieved.

The range below represents the low and high end of the base salary someone in this role may earn as an employee of an Omnicom Health Group company in the United States. Salaries will vary based on various factors including but not limited to professional and academic experience, training, associated responsibilities, and other business and organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees. Salary decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each hire.

  • $115,000 - $150,500
