Workforce Services Portfolio Investment Lead

To contribute to our portfolio toward this goal, HP is seeking for a highly motivated Portfolio investment manager responsible of the aggregation across the different service lines that form HP WS portfolio. The role of portfolio planning is to provide oversight, guidance, and governance to ensure that the organization's plans are aligned with its strategic objectives, optimized to achieve the best possible return on investment, and effectively managed to mitigate risks and maximize performance.

Supporting these objectives, within the Portfolio Planning function you will be responsible for managing the portfolio of investments across the service lines, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives and financial targets. You will oversee the allocation of resources, track the performance and risk of the investments, and provide timely and accurate reporting to senior management and stakeholders. We are in a transformation of the planning function and that also means AI, you would be in charge of the innovation through AI to transform our processes into more efficient, connected and predictable.

Responsibilities:

  • Portfolio Investment Management: You will be responsible for managing the portfolio of investments aggregating the key strategic plays across all the service lines. You will do that by analysing choices, possible allocations and rebalances and providing guidance to the service line leaders according to the organization's strategic goals and risk-return profile. You will also connect with strategy partners to connect the market trends, opportunities, and challenges, and provide recommendations on the portfolio strategy and asset allocation.
  • Live business planning: You will be responsible for leading the live business planning process, which involves monitoring the performance and health of the portfolio, identifying risks and issues, facilitating trade-offs and decisions, and communicating the status and changes to stakeholders. You will also collaborate with the finance, strategy, and product teams to ensure alignment and transparency of the portfolio outcomes and financials.
  • Portfolio Performance Management: You will be responsible for defining the lead and lagging metrics, as well as the reporting the performance of the portfolio of investments, using appropriate metrics and benchmarks. You will also analyse the performance drivers and trends and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization. You will also communicate the portfolio performance to the relevant stakeholders, such as senior management.
  • Portfolio Governance and Compliance: You will be responsible for ensuring that the portfolio of investments adheres to the organization's strategic objectives and roadmap. You will also oversee the portfolio governance processes, choice points approval, prioritization, and change management.
  • Strategy investment OKR management : You will work closely with your peer in Portfolio Analytics and product management to establish and monitor key performance indicators that bridge the delivery of the organization's strategic objectives and goals through the funded initiatives.
  • Long- and short-term Portfolio Planning: You will be responsible coordinating the effort across the different service lines, being the point of contact to drive optimization across the portfolio investment.
  • AI integration and innovation: You will be responsible for identifying and exploring opportunities to leverage AI technologies and solutions to enhance the portfolio investment planning process. You will also lead the innovation initiatives and experiments that aim to test and validate new AI approaches and methods for portfolio management. You will collaborate with internal and external AI experts, partners, and vendors to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the AI solutions.

Education & Experience:

  • 10+ years total experience in strategy, planning, operations, finance, or related functional area.
  • Advanced university degree required (e.g., MBA) or demonstrable equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Portfolio management expertise: You will need to have a solid understanding of portfolio management concepts, frameworks, and best practices, as well as the ability to apply them to different contexts and scenarios.
  • Strategic thinking and alignment: You will need to have a clear vision of the organization's strategy and goals, and how they translate into portfolio investment decisions. You will also need to be able to communicate and align the portfolio strategy with various stakeholders, such as senior leadership, product managers, service line owners, and delivery teams.
  • Business acumen and financial literacy: You will need to have a strong understanding of the business value and outcomes of the portfolio investments, as well as the financial implications and trade-offs. You will also need to be able to perform financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting on the portfolio performance and health.
  • Collaboration and stakeholder management: You will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse and cross-functional teams. You will also need to be able to influence and negotiate with stakeholders, manage expectations, and resolve conflicts.
  • Agile and lean mindset: You will need to have a flexible and adaptive approach to portfolio management, and the ability to embrace change and uncertainty. You will also need to be familiar with agile and lean principles and practices, such as OKRs, MVPs, feedback loops, and continuous improvement.
