The Basics

As a Tanium Senior Software Engineer, you will be tasked with building and maintaining best-of-breed products as part of a small and nimble development team. Tanium focuses on a strong customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning. When new products ideas are identified, our software engineers are responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying the products from the ground up, while continuously iterating with product management and customers for feedback and input.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintaining Tanium's servers and client alongside a highly agile development team 
  • Focus on a strong customer engagement model and feedback process to ensure our products are designed the right way from the beginning 
  • Design, develop and test new product ideas from the ground up while working with product management for feedback and input

We’re looking for someone with

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • CS Degree or related technical field preferred

Experience

  • 7+ years industry experience, 10+ preferred 
  • Experience designing and building high-performance, secure, scalable, observable, supportable, and maintainable backend services and APIs 
  • Expert knowledge of at least one of C++ (preferred), Golang or Rust 
  • Experience with public cloud technologies (e.g. AWS or Azure) 
  • Experience with cryptographic primitives, TLS, PKI 
  • Experience with HTTP API design and development 
  • Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git, GHA and Jenkins

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 to $330,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
