Intel has flagged the Thermal / Mechanical Engineer job as unavailable. Let’s keep looking.

Job Details:

Job Description:

The Mechanical Thermal Test Engineer

  • Designs and develops mechanical devices, systems, equipment, and packaging, creating practical mechanical designs that incorporate design for manufacture, design for serviceability, and design for sustainability considerations.
  • Develops system concepts from scratch, creates product and test specification based on requirements, drives system integration, development, procurement, acceptance, and deployment to high volume manufacturing.
  • Creates mechanical customer guidance for appropriate use of the designs and resolves customer concerns.
  • Defines and conducts feasibility studies and develops and implements test plans and parameters for new and existing mechanical designs, including functionality validation, reliability, and safety.
  • Lists the mechanical properties of the designed products or parts within a product and validates unique mechanical and/or thermomechanical solutions and equipment.
  • Applies deep materials knowledge and mechanical expertise to select right materials, components, and manufacturing technologies for the system. Coordinates with suppliers to incorporate manufacturing feedback, produce the designs, and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Conducts design reviews and performs system acceptance tests working with customers, drives structural and stress analysis of the key mechanical components such as the chassis structure, heat sinks, and thermal attachment, prototypes testing, initiates design improvement, and resolves design and implementation issues.
  • Performs Mechanical Simulation Engineering tasks, including creating mechanical finite element model geometry and meshing with parametric scripting, developing material models from measured material characterization, executing and postprocessing simulation static or transient solutions that accounts for system boundary conditions, manufacturing process steps, and reliability stress conditions.
  • Mechanical simulation structures can scale from silicon, packaging, PCBs, device system to multiple systems.
  • Executes tolerance analysis from component level to board and system level. Collaborates with thermal engineers, electromechanical engineers, industrial designers, and other system engineers to optimize the design parameters, deliver performance objectives, and partner with external vendors through initial conceptual studies, layout, design, fabrication, assembly, debugging, and validation.
