Job Description

As the Data and Analytics Manager, your primary purpose is to lead the strategic development and implementation of data-driven initiatives aimed at optimizing decision-making processes, improving operational efficiency, and driving business growth at imi. You will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of data assets, including collection, storage, integration, analysis, and visualization, to extract actionable insights and drive informed business decisions. Your role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, define data requirements, and prioritize analytics projects that align with organizational goals. Furthermore, you will play a key role in fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, promoting data governance best practices, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Through your leadership, technical expertise, and strategic vision, you will contribute to the advancement of data and analytics capabilities, enabling the company to stay competitive and achieve sustainable growth in the dynamic landscape of the Heavy Highway and Materials Supply industry.

Data and BI Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, flexible, and evolving data and BI strategy that aligns with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and ensure data-driven decision-making.

Report Generation and Maintenance

  • Lead the creation, maintenance, and presentation of meaningful reports and dashboards to support informed business decisions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in all reports.

Data Governance and Management

  • Establish and maintain data governance practices, including data quality standards, data security, and data privacy compliance.
  • Implement data stewardship and ownership practices across the organization to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of critical data elements.
  • Support data integration projects to consolidate data from disparate systems into the ERP platform. Ensure data mapping, transformation, and cleansing activities are performed effectively.

Dataset Generation

  • Generate datasets for internal users to facilitate ad hoc reporting and report generation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide timely solutions.

Data Practices for Developers

  • Assist Solutions Developers and Development Manager in adopting best data practices
  • Provide guidance on data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration.

Requirements

  • Data Management Expertise: Strong background and proficiency in data management principles, including data collection, storage, integration, and governance. Experience with databases, data warehouses, and data lakes is preferred.
  • Analytics Skills: Demonstrated expertise in data analysis, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization techniques. Proficiency in tools and platforms such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar is highly desirable.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading and managing data analytics teams, including recruitment, performance management, and mentorship of team members.
  • Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, execute, and deliver data analytics projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints. Experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban is preferred.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align data and analytics initiatives with business objectives, identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive operational improvements and business growth, and develop strategic roadmaps for data-driven decision-making.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, build relationships with internal teams and external partners, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the Heavy Highway and Materials Supply industry, including an understanding of its operational processes, regulatory requirements, and business challenges.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify business problems, formulate hypotheses, and derive insights from data to support decision-making.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Experience in implementing and overseeing data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as GDPR or CCPA.
  • Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management, analytics, and leadership.
