Your opportunity 

We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Product Development team onsite in Peachtree City, Georgia. You’ll be responsible for providing support to New Product Development Teams for our Connected Lighting products and Controls.

What you’ll do 

As an Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern, you may have the opportunity to work in a variety of functions including:

  • Coordinate with marketing and work with lead engineers to ensure project specifications are clear, complete, achievable, and consistent with voice of the customer.
  • Ensure design progression via CAD modeling reviews, thermal and mechanical analysis, drawing and model retention, testing plan creation, test review, and coordinate with internal and third-party compliance.
  • Meet project tooling budget and product cost requirements.
  • Coordinate with Sourcing Team to identify vendors, obtain quotations, and ensure quality standards/form deliverables are met.
  • Prototyping and building Proof-of-Concepts.

What you’ll need 

  • Currently in pursuit of a Bachelors' or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrate basic mechanical design approaches and capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of various materials and their structural and thermal properties
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and people skills and the ability to work across functional groups
  • Articulate and promote Engineering best-practices
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.

Pay Rate: Hourly Rate $23 to $31 (based on year of study)
