Senior DevOps Engineer

I am Anton Magnusson, and I am heading Trouble Ticketing Platform. As a member of my team, you will be ensuring reliability our on-premises ServiceNow instance that will support our Service Assurance and Service & Support processes locally and globally at Telia.

This role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Ensure availability of our Production and non-production environments;
  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of ServiceNow instance(s);
  • Measure and optimize system performance and health, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting a head of the customers and stakeholders need, and innovating to continually improve;
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering;
  • Partner with development teams in to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures;
  • Partner with our Compute & Infra organization that facilitates the compute and infrastructure deliveries of operating systems, databases, and network to secure the service delivery and performance;
  • Create sustainable system and service through automation;
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives.

It is a job that calls for someone who understand businesses, process, and people. You will be developing solutions, based on stakeholder and customer needs together with your team. And to drive that DevOps mindset, you will be a part of a 24x7 “on-call” support together with the developers making sure our platform and services are running without any hiccups so that our workforce can perform and help our customers in the best way possible.

Your Experience:

Required:

  • Deep knowledge in Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS, MariaDB and/or networking.
  • Experience in developing Ansible playbooks or using similar Configuration as code software.
  • Coding experience beyond simple scripts.
  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Working in Continuous Integration pipelines.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Preferred:

  • Ability to program, structured and Object Orientated, with one or more high-level languages such as Python, Java, and JavaScript.
  • Experience in ServiceNow development, preferably good expertise with on-prem installations.
  • Knowledge of ITIL.
  • Working with REST integration and messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka.
  • Working experience from Prometheus and Grafana.
