Objectives of the Position 

  • The Production Executive is a key member of technical team, required for production activities in Multi Product Plant.
  • This position will lead the shift activities in their respective shifts and ensure documentation of the plant processes and activities as per BASF standards.
  • This position will also coach and develop the production officers, operators and workmen for smooth running of the plant operations and adhere to EHS standards.
  • This position provides technical support and process definition needed to execute in shift activities.
  • This position plays an important role in driving standardization across shifts, optimizes fixed and variable unit costs, improve quality, and works closely with other support groups to ensure that proper priorities are placed on items of backlog.
  • This role will be responsible for the coordination, communication, accountability and expectation of day-to-day operations while working with the production team to ensure consistency in process and procedure.
  • This role will be responsible for specialized activities, if assigned, such as Responsible Person for TDS (Transport Distribution Safety), managing the production activities of Precious Metal Catalysts which requires high levels of monitoring in terms of value, quality, consistency, and security.

Main Tasks

  • Assist and support production officers, operators and workmen to achieve the production targets as per the plan along with Plant Manager and his deputy.
  • Review and monitor the production batches as per the log sheets in their respective shifts; monitors key process control parameters and addressing when there is deviation.
  • Ensure and engage in consistent communication, shift turnover, proactive action, mindset, and behavior are occurring over each shift.
  • Coaching/mentoring of plant employees in goals, tasks, operational discipline, and organization discipline
  • Expected to be on-call and respond to any after hour event that impacts production or EHS.
  • Work with supply chain to produce/receipt of raw materials as required per demand. (rationalize the 
  • production plan to make sure that it is aligned with all business needs)
  • Review and validate production data and production reports as needed to support the production accounting process.
  • Monitors key process control parameters addressing when there is deviation. Ensure shifts understand, adhere to, and key process parameters. Audit the process on all shifts and document and report in specified logbooks and records.
  • Provide technical and leadership support to the Plant Manager and his deputy to implement plant trials as needed.
  • Manage the production activities of Precious Metal Catalysts which requires high levels of monitoring in terms of value, quality, consistency, and security, if assigned.
  • Understand necessary maintenance, back log, and PMs (including vessel inspections), ensuring they are getting accomplished and worked through safety, efficiently and within the due dates (maintenance KPIs).
  • Acts as coach and provides direct execution for Operational Excellence and LEAN manufacturing tools.
  • Ensure proper definition and documentation of operating files, SOPs, emergency SOPs, records, reporting procedures, and technical files as well as the annual recertification of their applicability.
  • Support, lead, and role model EHS activities and EHS processes as Safety Representative.
  • In case of an emergency, take the role as defined in the Onsite Emergency response Plan and act accordingly.
  • Perform observations on safe work practices, compliance to basic rules, and set high standards for housekeeping.

Minimum Education and Qualification Required for the Position

  • Education: B.E.(Chemical) / M.Sc. (Chemistry)
  • Working Experience:
  • Min. 5 – 7 years’ experience in a similar manufacturing environment, preferrable batch managed plant.
  • Demonstrated plant experience as a shift leader in continuous improvement, problem-solving, high-volume manufacturing, lean principles, and mechanical aptitude required.
  • Good knowledge on Safety standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 50001
  • Ability to work effectively with operators, management, and possess strong influence skills working with indirect resource groups.
  • Experience in SAP system.
  • Experience in DCS/ PLC systems preferred
