Tetra Tech is looking for an experienced, driven and detail-oriented Marketing/Proposal Coordinator to support marketing and business development activities. The position will be based in Norfolk, VA, reports to the Norfolk Operations Manager, and serves as an integral part of our Business Development and Marketing team. The Marketing/Proposal Coordinator will guide and assist capture efforts and proposal teams under the Marketing and Business Development Manager and Operations Managers in the planning, development and completion of assigned capture efforts, including development of capture plans, market intelligence, proposal outlines, schedules, assignments, creative presentations, graphics and themes related to Tetra Tech’s core business areas. This position requires the employee to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.

Your Role::

In support of technical leads and specific business development opportunities, including, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate all phases of the proposal process from kick-off meeting to production and delivery - preparing schedules, collecting data and coordinating team meetings as appropriate. 
  • Coordinate with Corporate Marketing Group for large/complex proposals as required.
  • Work with technical staff to analyze and evaluate RFPs.
  • Develop proposal outlines, formats, graphics and styles.
  • Prepare major sections of proposals, including but not limited to project descriptions and resumes, tailored for specific proposal. Work with subject matter experts to develop other proposal content.
  • Compile metrics, statistics, and other data needed for specific proposals.
  • Coordinate proposal production, printing, and delivery, with emphasis on quality assurance/quality control.
  • Provide technical editing for grammatical errors and effective style – active voice, consistency, strong win themes. 
  • Assist technical leads with orals preparation, presentation materials, posters, etc.

In support of strategic business development planning and improving capture, including but not limited to:

  • Support unit management in preparation of corporate presentations.
  • Assist with market research in connection with current and prospective markets and clients.
  • Coordinate production and inventorying of trade show materials and coordinate shipment of trade show-related materials to regional offices and shows. Participation in trade shows may be required.
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of the unit business development content repository (SharePoint), ensuring content is current and accurate. 
  • Assist in creating Project Descriptions and perform quality control on content.
  • Review Small Business teaming history and agreements.
  • Assist Operations Managers in creating Capture Plans. 
  • Assist in preparing proposal teams for Oral Presentations.
  • Collect and share Debrief Notes.
  • Manage regional marketing material, including:

o Identify materials in need of updates and work with managers and technical personnel to make content changes.

o Identify new capabilities/services/expertise in region that should have marketing like brochures, fact sheets, and qualifications statements. Initiate work groups to start creation.

o Work with marketing staff in collocated and discipline overlapping OUs for coordination of marketing materials. 

  • Perform occasional process improvement/reviews for increased capture rate and/or other efficiencies of business development activities.
  • Contribute to internal and external corporate communications.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in Engineering, Biology, Geology, Earth Science, Geography, Chemistry, or Environmental Science.
  • Additional and advanced degrees in Business Administration, Engineering, Biology, Geology, Earth Science, Geography, Chemistry, or Environmental Science are a plus.
  • Desired certifications and licenses include Professional Engineer, Registered Environmental Manager, Certified Energy Manager, Project Management Professional. 
  • Advanced degree is a plus.
  • A driver’s license current and valid for a state in the United States is required.
  • A minimum of ten years of work experience in the scientific, engineering, environmental consulting, contracting, or related industry is required. 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret and develop both written technical documents and tabular presentation of data is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook is required.
  • Experience in proposal development, for a variety of client types, funding sources, and/or submission requirements.
  • Experience with/Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, state acquisition regulations, special Congressional funding (e.g., IIJA, BIL, EPA grants).
  • Experience engaging with a variety of client types, including municipal and local government, culturally-diverse communities, and federal government.
