SUMMARY

The Project Manager – Project Management Office (PMO), as a member of the CDI Corporate IT Project Management Team, plays a critical role in the corporate team by managing all aspects of IT projects, from project inception to project close, ensuring effective project management methodologies are applied and deliverables are met throughout the project life cycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Oversee one to many projects in all project phases and geographic locations.
  • Project types include: SAP, Corporate Applications, Gaming Applications, IT Infrastructure, End User Devices, IT integration and deployments into new facilities under construction, Marquee events such as the Kentucky Derby, and ongoing maintenance of Vendor or Corporate supported hardware and software systems.
  • Lead and facilitate planning sessions to assist in determining project approach, requirements elicitation, creation of WBS documents, and revise, qualify, and quantify project work packages and estimates for inclusion in the project schedule and creation of overall timelines.
  • Create detailed project requirements documents and task-level project plans to organize cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure critical dates are defined and delivery dates are actively managed. 
  • Direct, negotiate and manage conflict resolution / conflict management to ensure cross-functional team members, often with disparate priorities, remain focused on project objectives.
  • Ensure the required tracking and reporting takes place. 
  • Possess professional, clear, and influential verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and tactfully with all levels of the organization.
  • Peer review work of teammates and provide appropriate feedback.
  • Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement of CDI IT PMO processes, tools and templates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REGULATORY

Ability to obtain racing and/or gaming licenses as required in any jurisdiction where CDI operates. The Gaming industry is highly regulated and as such demands an extensive background check to obtain a license.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Project Management experience.
  • PMP certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI) strongly preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain PMP certification through PMI if not actively certified.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Exceptional presentation, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence the decision-making process without direct authority.
  • Superb recordkeeping, documentation, time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience in vendor relationship management.
  • Strong technical skills including data analysis and project cost estimation.
  • Strong understanding of Project Management Methodology.
  • Highly adaptable to rapid change with strong ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to operate under deadline pressures and manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills.
  • ITIL Foundation Certification preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification(s) preferred.
  • Experience with Value Stream Mapping preferred.
  • Experience with ERP Business Process Mapping preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management software, such as KeyedIn.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications - SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Payroll, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Concur, SAP Ariba, Agiloft a plus.
