Job Description:

As a Java Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex solutions using full-stack technologies while adhering to Agile methodologies to address the needs of our customers. Our backend is actually a modern, cloud centric, polyglot environment (we value NodeJS experience as deeply as Java).

In this role, you can expect to:

Skills & experience

To qualify for this position, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years software development experience, or a Master’s degree. Relevant degree fields include Computer Science, coupled with certifications in technologies like Java techstack, microservices, Cloud platforms, etc.
  • Strong software development experience in building enterprise grade products with deep knowledge in applying System Design concepts
  • Experience in collaborating with customers to understand their pain points and solve their problems; conducting solution demos of new features and gathering feedback to further improve the solution

You should also have hands-on experience with following technologies and concepts

  • Several years of Java OR NodeJS full-stack experience
  • Network Protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, HTTP/S
  • Distributed Systems and Microservices Architecture
  • Knowledge of administering Unix/Linux/ Windows systems
  • Knowledge of developing web interfaces using modern JavaScript/CSS frameworks (React, Redux, webpack, CSS-modules, LESS)
  • Problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL data stores (mostly Postgres SQL, ElasticSearch)

To be successful, you will come to this role with:

  • Solid coding, system design skills and a collaborative attitude
  • Experience building and working with Docker containers
  • Experience designing and working with REST APIs
  • A track record of well-executed challenging design and implementation projects.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive about collaborating with customers, Product Managers, Engineers, UX Researchers, and other technology experts in the organization to understand needs and deliver great solutions.
  • Passionate about learning new technologies, new methods, and new skills.
  • Have a good understanding of agile teams, practices, and principles.
  • Ability to contribute to all stages of Secure SDLC

To really stand out as the perfect person for this role, you may also have:

  • Expertise in evaluating multiple design approaches, prototyping new technologies, design systems, etc.
  • Working experience in an Agile product development environment and working with large Agile teams. 
  • Passion for coaching, and generally sharing what you know
  • Participation in Hackathons, ideation, etc.
  • Experience with cloud architectures and a variety of GCP services
