RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Contract Specialist (Direct Hire), you will: Responsible for pre-award through post-award functions for a variety of health related, regulatory, or human services programs. Prepare solicitation documents which incorporate required Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and organizational policies and provisions; requirements for technical proposals; cost data requirements; and all other required data. Advise and provide recommendations on data that should be included in the procurement request. Perform cost/price analysis, including analysis of cost breakdowns to determine reasonableness and conformance to applicable regulations. This announcement is being used to create an inventory of applicants for Contract Specialist (Direct Hire) position and will be used to fill immediate and future needs. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Due to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC's) process enhancement to use Shared Certificates throughout the Agency, some of the requirements below may differ: US Citizenship required. Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see http://www.sss.gov). May be subject to a Background/Security Investigation. Security clearance level may differ from the position announced when certificates are shared. CDC participates in the USCIS Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify). Supervisory position: No This position has a Federal Acquisition Certification (FAC-C (Professional)) and continuing education requirement. This position may require a Drug Test and be subject to Random Drug Testing. The position may require the submission of a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and be subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing upon hiring. If required to submit to urinalysis, the appointment to the position will be contingent upon a negative test result.

Basic Qualifications Requirements

Basic Qualification Requirement: A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field; OR At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. Exceptions: Employees in GS-1102 positions will be considered to have met the standard for positions they occupy on January 1, 2000. Employees who occupy GS-1102 positions at grades 5 through 12 will be considered to meet the basic requirements for other GS-1102 positions up to and including those classified at GS-12. This includes positions at other agencies and promotions up through grade 12.
