Job Summary

The School of Library and Information Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 12-month Contract Faculty and Manager of Archives and Library Internships and Practicums (non-tenure track). Preferred start date is November 1, 2023.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach all assigned courses as well as manage all internships and practicums in the Archives Concentration (LIS438) and for students taking the Advanced Field Experience in LIS course (LIS512). We welcome applications from candidates with administrative experience who can demonstrate excellence in teaching and leadership in professional service. Responsibilities include teaching (on-ground and/or online) all three yearly sections of Advanced Field Experience in LIS as well as other courses in the Archives concentration; recruiting and growing partnerships with internship sites, as well as advising on and managing all field experiences, placements and evaluations for introductory (LIS438) and advanced (LIS512) students on-campus, online and at SLIS West.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (LIS) with a minimum of three (3) years of professional work experience. A doctorate in LIS is preferred but not required.
